Shoto didn't speak to you the whole train ride to your district, he didn't speak when you left the station or when you boarded the taxi and entered your home.

You felt like you had scared him off, keeping your face neutral so he wouldn't see the large hole caving into your chest with anxiety. This was the guy you were going to have to spend your life with, the guy who was a product of an arranged marriage, a man from what you remember when the villain Dabi made a broadcast, was abused by his father.

You had assumed he would be a bit neglectful, but you refused to have sex with a guy you didn't know, a guy that refused to speak to you. You didn't want him to just fuck you and go, you wanted to experience a romance and now you'd messed it up with one pushy comment.

You knocked on the door waiting for your mother to answer. You assuming your dad hadn't gotten home yet since he seemed to go and get drinks with Enji.

Out peaked your mother, she always seemed funnier when your dad wasn't around she was very quick witted and sarcastic, when he was around she became tight lipped, nothing would pass her lips, but you could always tell by her expressions that she despised the man as well as loved him.

A combination you hoped you would never feel.

"Y/n!" She exclaimed wrapping her arms around your body and pulling you into her chest. Her eyes glanced at Shoto eyes going wide as she stared. " Is this the guy? He's very handsome." She complimented.

" He is." You whispered to her as she walked past you to shake his hand. You felt like if you said it louder his ego would inflate.

"He's a prohero." You told her, feeling as if it was your own accomplishment, pride filling your body.

"A pro, in our family!" She urged you two inside. She showed a large amount of joy that she would only display when your father hadn't showed up.

Shoto took his shoes off placing them on the rack at the entrance. Taking in your home, it looked very cozy even though it was a lot smaller than his own.

"Mummy I'm going to pack some of my stuff, can you keep Shoto company?!" You exclaimed already shooting down the hall to the broom closet pulling out two suitcases into your room.

Shoto stood there shocked, his face as aloof as ever, he wasn't scared, he just never knew what to say when it came to these things.

Your mother took him into the living room sitting him down on one of the couches not offering him tea or food, just staring at him like he was the filth of the earth.

She was scared for you, she felt you were too young to understand the implications of marriage, you jumped at the opportunity way to quickly especially since you hadn't met the man.

He might be good looking, but he could be a brute, and abusive whether physically, emotionally or sexually that being the worst case scenario and now the man had brought you home to take you away from your family probably to have more control over you, maybe it was so if something bad happened they wouldn't be able to reach you in time.

Being a prohero didn't ease her mind it worsened it, he would be stronger than you, in quirk use and physical strength, he could beat you black and blue and then her as your mother wouldn't be able to save you.

"How long did it take to convince her to move with you?" She asked, her eyes menacing the same way they would be when her husband said something horrible to you.

"She asked to." He replied, understanding why your mother was looking at him with such a scary expression.

She didn't believe him, she couldn't find a reason that her only daughter would want to leave her, her husband had even promised her that you would spend most of your time at home.

" What, after your begging and blackmail that is." She quipped keeping her voice even, not wanting you to hear her malice when she spoke to the handsome prohero. " Couldn't even wait to bring her here, had to take her straight after the papers were signed, need someone to put your stress onto."

Shoto couldn't hate your mum, he understood, Endeavour has a reputation for being abusive why wouldn't his son become an abuser as well. Though his reason to get you out of his home had nothing to do with taking you to his home quickly, he just wanted to get out that home quickly, he wouldn't mind staying at your house for a few days if it didn't interfere with his hero work.

" I wouldn't lay a hand on a woman." He told her not knowing what he could say to ease her suspicions.

Her worries never eased, she knew of men like him, they had delusions a different interpretation of hurting woman, for all she knew he would be one of the people who thought marital rape wasn't rape.

"Shoto can you help me?" You asked, peaking your head into the living room. He stood up followed by your mother she couldn't let this man out of her sight one wrong look and he could take his anger out on you.

"Let me come too," She suggested getting a nod from you as you went back into your room. She pushed infront of the boy an act that wasn't noticed by you as you held your mum's hand.

Spread out on the floor was two suitcases one was filled with clothes and shoes, the other with what Shoto would call 'junk' . Pictures with friends, art projects, toys, books etc. It seemed that you were struggling to zip it up, pressing down one side of the case and trying to zip it up.

" Oh Y/n you know you could've asked me for help. I'm always available no matter what alright" your mum told you trying to force into your head to come to her whenever in need no matter how small the problem is.

She kneeled on the floor next to you, putting weight on the other side of the suitcase and used her other hand to stretch and zip up the first case.

While that was in progress Shoto zipped up the other one. Watching the exchange between you and your mother, you seemed to be very fond of her but have a distance with your father.

He noticed it, how your dad would interrupt you everytime you tried to speak to him. How your mood would shift everytime he opened his mouth, you weren't even comfortable hugging the man goodbye as Endeavour scooped you both off upstairs.

"Y/n I promise I'll be the best partner you could wish for!"

You and your mum raised your brows wondering where the outburst came from, though the declaration was nice. It felt good to know you wouldn't be the only person putting effort into the partnership. You gave him one of those smiles that seemed to tip his heart.

" Ok."
