You guys knew each others quirks, family members, embarassing childhood stories and so on. You had played snakes and ladders, twister and had pointless arguements over Uno.

Yet throughout it all, Shoto felt a distance from you. You were constantly cosying up to Kaminari. He knew he was a very easy going person, he had a way of making everyone feel at ease and had a way of making ladies fall at his feet with his dork-ish personality. Todoroki was jealous, not because he had feelings for you, but because he realised you didn't feel comfortable around him the way you did with his friends. It made him feel awkward and lonely, lonlier than when he lived alone because now he had a ghostly presence that was cold towards him.

" Are you coming to the gala next week?" Kaminari asked, glancing at Shoto to bring you as a plus one. You were so fun and he knew the two of you would be close friends.

" Yeh Shoto said I'll come." You answered, avoiding looking at Shoto as you shuffled closer to Denki. You were still very slightly annoyed with what happened this morning and felt like he hated you with all his chest. Watching his expressions with his close friend made you realise he had a constant stoic expression and could hide his emotions very well. For all you knew he was avoiding you and wanted you gone for his life, and you felt horrible for your impulsive decision to come to his place of work, intruding his day.

He probably hated you even more now.

" Chargebolt, tell me more about Dynamight." You lay on your stomach playing with your flashcards as he smirked at you.

" You are so obsessed with him, I wonder how you'll react when you see him at the gala." He chuckled.

" I probably won't even talk to him I'll be taken aback by his beauty." You gasped putting the back of your hand to your forehead like you had been taken by a fever. " Alas he will be the one to suffer because I wouldn't be speaking to him-" you stopped yourself realising that you were speaking to his close friends and not your friends that you could probably talk in great detail about all the things you'd do to him if he looked in your direction.

" I'm a big fan so I think he'd be freaked out if I blabbed to him, plus I heard he doesn't really like fans all that much and I don't want to scare him away. Even if he doesn't know me I don't want him to hate me. Do you know what I mean?" You shared a look at the men, hoping they got your memo.

" I think you've got a fat crush on Kaachan." Kaminari teased. Your brain ticked, realising Kaachan was his nickname, you felt like you knew the guy personally by just speaking to his friends.

You glanced at Shoto wondering if what Kaminari said had offended him, you didn't want him thinking you would drop him for Bakugou once you got over your frigidity.

" It's not like that, he's too rude." You defended.

Kaminari's watch beeped, telling him to go out for his business meeting with Sato in Kyoto.

" I've gotta go." He stood up patting himself down to make sure he had everything on him. " Don't do anything I won't do!" He winked leaving the room.

You sat in awkward silence looking at Shoto who sat on his desk looking at you as well. The two of you examined each other. You really like Shoto's face he was just so pretty, you would catch yourself shamelessly staring in awe. Shoto had found something else on your face that wasn't as bland as the rest of you, your eyes. Even if they were looking at him with uncertainty he found them incredibly beautiful just like your smile, he wished they had the twinkle that appeared when you were talking to Denki about Bakugou.

" Why'd you lie this morning?" You asked breaking the silence between you two. You bit your lip, knitting your brows together hoping he'd give you an answer that didn't break you down too much. Just something light so you could crack open his brain a little more.

He was very vague during the ice breakers.

" Do you mean yesterday?"

" Yes! Today, yesterday it doesn't matter you know what I'm talking about." You rolled your eyes, realising your uncertainty was affecting the way you were speaking to him.

Shoto held his tongue, he could be cruel without realising sometimes, something he swears he got from his father because he knows his mother was too kind hearted to disregard someone's feelings. She also wasn't there for most of his childhood.

" Are you going to say anything, or....." You stayed quiet. You weren't one to blow up at someone for not answering, you were someone who would change the subject so the person would feel at ease, but this was doing your head in. It's been 3 days you've been with him and you still couldn't figure out if he was fine with you living with him.

" I don't know." He whispered, barely audible to you.

" Pardon." You stood up sitting beside him on the desk, swinging your feet out of boredom, your patience running thinner with all the vague responses.

" I don't know why I lied." He looked at you, hoping you would be angry at him, he wasn't good with words, even though he did try, always thinking carefully before he spoke, while you seemed to think after the words left your mouth.

" That's fine, I say stuff impulsively too. I just wish you told me it was a lie after instead of making me think we'd hang out today." You smiled, watching his eyes narrow as he stared at your eyes for what seemed like years.

Finally he opened his mouth

" Why did you try have sex last night if you knew you didn't want to?"

Your hand slapped over his, despite the fact you had claimed proudly that you'd do much more detailed stuff to Bakugou if he walked in front of you.

" Don't you guys have like wiring to record your conversations in your agency?" You looked at each corner of the large room, deluding yourself with mini camera or mics in plant pots and walls.

" No what gave you that idea?"

" It's always like that in hero movies." You admitted, placing your hand on the table and sighing, remembering his question.

" I thought I was ready, but I obviously wasn't."

He hummed, not like he was in deep thought about what you said, but just to let you know that he understood you didn't want to talk about it.

" Is it really true you barely get girls, I find that hard to believe, I mean you're so attractive I thought you'd be picking them up left and right, you know?" You stopped yourself talking to much about his features, or else you would have brought up how you thought of licking his 'birthmark'.

" I haven't got any fancy words like Chargebolt or Cellophane so they kinda get bored." He admitted.

" So you're just a pretty hero." You teased, giggling as you poked his sides.

He didn't get the joke.

He narrowed his eyes at you, feeling a little insecure. He had grown so much over the years, convincing himself he was much more than Endevours masterpiece, yet here you were. Plain, funny y/n without much care in the words and her only problem being she can't have sex with her husband of an arranged marriage because he's too boring. You were making him feel worse about himself even if it wasn't intentional.

He hummed, jumping off the desk as his thoughts clouded over. Was that really why you didn't like him, because he was nothing more than his father's replacement with his mother's face.

" You should go home, it's getting late."

You and your stupid mouth had got you into trouble again. Maybe it was time to accept that the two of you weren't compatible otherwise you would've clicked already. You wouldn't think he hated you, or feel uncertain with every action he took and your remarks wouldn't back him into a corner making him feel small.

" Yeh I'm tired I slept late and woke up early."
