His mother was in bits, of course she never showed it, she was a woman of ice as his father always described her. Shoto had evidently seen something different, him being scared by the fact his mother's emotions were more than stone cold.

She remembered the feeling that came with being promised to Endeavour, she thought it was good for her family, they relied on her for money for livelihood and respect, she couldn't find it within herself to reject the advances.

She believed nothing could go too wrong even if it was a quirk marriage, she was marrying a prohero. Heroes are meant to be kind and selfless and have all the good qualities that society lacked. And it was true, everything was good and well, so good she gave him 4 children before he became obsessed.

Obsessed to the point of abuse.

She was stoic, or silent would be a better word. She didn't say a single word upon hearing the news from her supposedly 'redeemed' husband. She was in a state of shock, going to the comfort of her room to clutch her chest.

Endeavour had kept these meetings with your father secret from her and Shoto, only letting her know when Shoto had unexpectedly come home. Endeavour explaing that Shoto was here to get married.

" I've found him a girl to marry, from a respectable family, I can't have him running around like a harlot."

She obviously knew that wasn't the reason. Enji was obsessed with heroism especially since he retired. One would think having to fight your own son would rewire the brain but I guess not.

After calming down she went straight to Shoto.

" Are you ok with this, really can you be sure this is what you want to do?" She was desperate to make her son slightly rebellious so he would make a run for it.
She was distraught when he pointed at the signed document on the table.

She was silent when Endeavour went to open the door. Silent throughout the whole meeting with you.

You seemed like a nice girl, easily mislead, though she could tell you only agreed to marry her son to run away from your home situation. She noticed how you shuffled away from your dad when he spoke, how your eyes would droop when he interrupted you while speaking or reminded you to stay quiet.

She was notified of your family's situation. She almost saw herself in you, trying to make good of a bad situation. Your smile was large as if you hadn't signed your life away to a stranger.

She believed you were very lucky, her son was everything a hero stood for and was too nice for his own good. She hoped the best for you two, but that didn't stop her from worrying about you.

* Ring ring*

Your phone went off as you ate waffles from a kiosk, leaning against the wall. You and Shoto had previously spoke about pointless things like what breakfast food is better.

You took your phone from your pocket holding it up to see your father's contact number.

" I need to...." You gestured to your phone, asking for some privacy.

" Yeh that's ok take your time."

You walked a few metres away ducking behind a bush to give your mind ease as you spoke to your dad.

" Hello." You answered holding the phone to your ear, keeping your privacy.

" Y/n I hope that you and that Todoroki are sleeping together daily, me and your mother are in desperate need of some cash, we want to move out and we need to pay a few extra fees before the end of the year."

Your heart rate spiked almost feeling pressure on your body, you didn't notice the cool air developing with rain pouring around you. You felt selfish lying to your father yesterday, it weighed heavily on your chest, and now here were the consequences of your actions attacking you.

" You're moving?"

" Yes into a much more respectable household." He muttered clearing his throat before repeating himself, " so have you been listening to me, skipping meals will help with any weight gain, just so that boy will always want you." He paused a second as if he was giving you life changing advice, " we need you to announce pregnancy soon, we don't know what we would do withoout the money, and your mother wants grandchildren.".

" I can't control it, what if I'm infertile?* You pushed not being able to think of any other excuse.

" We know you aren't, don't you remember those exams we did."

Of course you remembered, when your father first became aware from the underground that Endeavour wanted a girl, your father dropped you and your mother off to a clinic to make sure everything was fine down there, everything was in check

" Right." You muttered.

" Y/n I'm not joking, we need this, it's taking everything out of us, this change, we need this from you."

" Yes daddy."

" See, you were always compliant."

You mumbled in reply, cutting the phone as you tried to control your breathing, you were not going to go back to Shoto crying because your dad told you to do something very small.

You took a deep breath the rain dying down to a complete stop, making the area around you dry as it was before.

You walked from behind the bush to were Shoto was, he looked concerned, but you decided to ignore it for now trying to keep your father's voice ringing from your head.

" Why aren't you wet?" Shoto asked when you were In front of him.

" What do you mean?" You asked.

" You made it rain, but you're all dry."

" Oh, I don't like water touching my eyebrows." You muttered not being in the mood to explain your quirk since it was very boring to you. Though you had to keep the fact he knew your quirk in your head cause you didn't tell him, for all he knew it could be lightning.

" I'm not really hungry anymore can we go home."

" Of course."
