Shoto didn't know what to do other than watch. He was always good at observing, something he got from his friend Bakugou. He would watch when you slept late and woke up even later. When you would go out touring the district and come back with useless trinkets to remember the day. He would watch the way your eyes twinkled as that perfect smile spread across your face.
He would watch as you made yourself food, the food always being enough for you to go back for seconds because you seemed to enjoy the idea of filling up. He watched you laugh at Kaminari's jokes, squeal at videos of him or Bakugou in action etc.
Very rarely he'd speak to you, he had become used to having you around, and even if you barely spoke it was comforting for you to just be there around him. You were nice to watch, and he'd begun to slap his week younger self for thinking you were plain. You were everything but plain, in looks and personality you were so dazzling, he just had to find a way to get past the awkward tension.
He now stayed in a private room inside the venue of the gala, near him were Bakugou and Midoriya, both staring into air trying to figure out how to start a conversation.
" So how'd that meeting with Endeavour go?" Midoriya asked.
" Oh yeh, I'm married now."
Bakugou and Midoriya shared a look, not because of shock, but because they thought Shoto had a little more pride than to admit that without pushiness.
" Oh, sorry," Midoriya mumbled, feeling awkward.
" Nothing to be sorry about, she's nice."
" Nice. Is that it?"
" Kacchan he's known the girl for a couple of days. " Though curiosity got the better of him, "What's she like though?"
"You'll see her today she's probably on her way here."
" What do you mean?"
" I invited her, she said she wanted to see you Katsuki she's a huge fan."
" I'm not meeting fans today." He had just had a horrible experience with a stalker and wanted to keep a low profile for a while, this gala was the last big thing he was gonna do before only doing night patrols.
" Oh, but she'll be disappointed," Shoto muttered, hoping you wouldn't be too upset if Bakugou dismissed you before you got to say hello. " She's friendly." He added hoping it'd convince his friend to be nice to you.
" What do I care ?" He grumbled, walking out of the room stressed out with the thought of fans right now. That person really creeped him out, they had gotten into his home.
Now it was just Izuku and Shoto, a small smile appeared on Shoto's face in an apology for allowing Katsuki to leave but he wasn't the type to argue.
" Who's bringing her?" Midoriya asked.
" Well, I have hotel staff looking after her and one of them will drive her here. I trust she'll be fine on her own like I said she's very friendly. "
" Why'd you leave her, I mean I think it'd be a nice gesture if you'd brought her at least, what if she's scared or perhaps she isn't and instead she's just angry at you for leaving her alone and in a fit of rage she exposes what Endeavour has arranged between you two and another scandal is created....."
Perhaps Shoto only liked it when you rambled, because what Midoriya was saying sounded quite useless for his situation. He was here going through a small identity crisis and here was his friend talking about a girl who very much wanted to be left alone.
" I think she prefers it this way, she seems..... bothered when I'm around and she's constantly lying about what we are and she avoids me when needed. I wish she didn't I've seen the way she is with others and I have to say I'm jealous. I want her to be comfortable around me no matter what. Midoriya is this what having a crush is like?"
