Friends?

Hopefully no trigger warnings for this chapter. It might be a little short as I'm currently deciding whether it should be slow burn or not. Hope you enjoy it.

Carina's POV

After helping Maya the other day, we have grown a lot closer and we talk more often even off shift.

I have noticed Maya is very closed off and not many can get through to her, even her team. I was thinking about talking to her so u started to get up.

Aid car 19
PRT

Guess that's me.

Third person POV

Ben and Carina rushed to the PRT as Maya and Andy rushed to the aid car.

"Where are we heading?" Carina asked Ben.

"A small apartment, a woman is in distress and another is unconscious and pregnant." He responded in a serious tone.

Carina nodded subconsciously as she thought about what would be ahead of her.

Once they arrived at the scene, Maya ran in and helped the women in distress, bringing her to the aid car before helping Carina put the pregnant woman on a stretcher and to the PRT.

Carina thanked Maya before starting an emergency c-section as Ben started compressions.

Half an hour later a beautiful baby girl was born and the mother was awake. Maya brought the other woman who was no longer in shock and could breathe normally to see her wife and daughter.

After making sure they were okay at Grey Sloan the team headed back to the station.

Carina was restocking the PRT, when she heard a soft knock on the door. Turning round she came face to face with Maya.

"Maya what can I do for you?" Carina asked.

"We are friends right?" The blonde asked.

"Yeah we are." The brunette nodded with a warm smile.

The blonde smiled back before climbing in the PRT to help Carina.

"So you were a general surgeon before becoming a OB/GYN?" Maya questioned.

"Yeah I worked at a few different hospitals, before going to Grey Sloan where I found my passion for OB." Carina responded.

"I heard you were one if the best surgeons." Maya complimented.

"Well I wouldn't say that, I was just doing my job." Carina replied modestly.

The pair continued chatting before finishing up and heading to the beanery.

The team turned and smiled as they saw their captain happy for once.

After a group lunch and only 1 call the team decided to clean the station.

Carina and Maya were on the PRT and Aid car as the rest of the team were spread around the trucks and actual building.

Maya and Carina were talking to eachother as they cleaned the vehicles and Maya felt happy. Happiness was something she hadn't felt in a long time.

Sorry this is really short I am still deciding when different things will happen. Also station 19 7×05 actually killed my heart. Hope you enjoyed this chapter and I'm thinking it will be kind of slow burn but also not to long so maybe around the 15th chapter or something it will become official. The next chapter will be slightly heavy.
