Third person POV

The team sat in the beanery finally able to rest after a busy last few days.

Maya and Carina sat chatty as Andy and Vic messed around together. Ben was calling Miranda as Travis made food helped by Dean.

They all sat happily and as a family while Beckett and Jack finished making everyone a drink.

Maya smiled at her team happy they all trusted and cared for eachother.

She was proud of how far they had come from when she first became captain and everyone hated it.

Carina watched Maya with a smile on her face glad the blonde was happy and felt safe.

The station was peaceful for once and everyone were finally relaxed.

After 2 short calls Maya was sat in her office finishing the reports as she heard a soft knock.

"Maya, Andy had to go home sick and everyone wanted to knwo who would be on desk duty." Jack told the blonde as he poked his head around the door.

"I'll do it." She replied wanting to have a break.

He nodded and walked off to inform the others.

Maya walked to the desk and sat behind it, hoping for some walk ins but not to many.

Suddenly the phone called amd she picked it up. After a small conversation she had taught an old lady how to install a smoke detector.

She softly smiled gald to be able to help people especially in a less stressful environment.

A few people and called about installing smoke detectors or how to know when to replace the batteries but nothing else had come up.

1 hour later

A small lady walked through the door hobbling slightly.

"Exscuse me can you help me please?" She asked sweetly.

"Of course." Maya replied walking over to the grey haired women.

The lady lefted up her left arm to show a small glass shard sticking out, then she began to explain hpw she ahd dropped a galss amd when trying to clean it she slipped amd cut her arm.

Maya listened to her story then called Carina in to help remove the shard and stitch up the wound.

Carina came in and began to prep the area before slowly pulling out the glass as the blonde helped distarct the women whose name they had learned to be Brenda.

After a few stitches and a bandage her arm was as good as new and she was saying thank you before leaving promising to return when it was time to take out her stitches.

Maya returned to the front desk as Carina packed away the supplies.

The door began to open again as a man walked in.

"Hello Maya, daddy's here." He smirked.

Sorry its not the longest I've been away since Friday and i have posted all my drafts. The next few chapters will be heavier but then we get MARINA!!!!!
