As soon as the plane landed in Seoul, Yeonjun practically sprinted across it to get away from the crowds of people on board, trying to keep a low profile for once in his life. It was only then that he noticed how exhausted he really was after all that time he spent traveling between Asia and Europe, and how long he had been away from home for. And it wasn't like any other part of his schedule was better. He felt like an actual zombie, even though he was fully aware that this trip was supposed to be a vacation - not a work trip - to relax. And yet, he still couldn't stop himself from getting antsy during the flight.
He hadn't heard back from Soobin or Kai since he left, and he knew they weren't going to call until they received confirmation that he was okay. But Yeonjun didn't want them to worry, because he was fine, really, he was just tired...
And he might as well not change his plans since he's already here. He's finally back in his hometown after four years of being away. And now all he needed was some peace of mind before meeting up with his friend, Beomgyu, in the hotel where he would be staying temporarily.
Yeonjun was so distracted thinking about what to do next when he suddenly bumped into someone, causing him to drop his duffle bag. The stranger was surprised by his sudden collision and also dropped some stuff as well. "Whoa, careful there," said the stranger.
Yeonjun immediately helped out the guy picking things up, and apologized in English. Once done helping the stranger, Yeonjun smiled awkwardly at him before looking around the airport and searching for his friend.
Beomgyu wasn't hard to spot due to his blonde hair. As soon as Yeonjun saw his best friend waving frantically towards him from across the crowd, he began moving faster toward him until he was right in front of him. "Beomgyu!"
"Woah, I haven't seen you in ages! Are you doing better?" asked Beomgyu, holding onto Yeonjun's shoulders tightly.
Yeonjun nodded slowly in response. "Yeah, I am. Thanks for asking." Beomgyu gave Yeonjun another pat before letting go of him. "Get in, I got the car for you."Beomgyu opened the passenger door of the car for him and waited until Yeonjun settled down inside the seat before shutting the door shut again. Afterwards, he quickly got in the driver seat and drove off from the airport with a speed that definitely wasn't legal.
"So, how was your flight going back here?" Beomgyu asked while driving. "I know you said you wanted to take an early morning flight but I didn't expect you'd actually take one. Did you make it okay?"
"Yes, it went fine. How did yours go? Did everything go alright?" asked Yeonjun with a small smile. "Is everyone else doing okay?""Yeah, don't worry about it. Your family is okay."
"Good." Then a silence fell over them until Yeonjun decided to break it. "...but how is he?"Beomgyu looked at him with confusion. "What are you talking about?"
"You know who I'm talking about, Gyu.."
"Oh..well, HE is doing better." Yeonjun sighed softly when he saw his best friend give him a look telling him to drop the subject.Beomgyu parked the car in front of the hotel and turned to face Yeonjun. His expression changed slightly as he asked carefully, "So... why don't we talk about something else instead?" Yeonjun's expression fell upon hearing Beomgyu suggest to forget about it, which made him feel bad for making such a huge deal out of it. "Okay, fine. Sorry." He scratched the back of his neck. "...Do you think he'll be mad at me? After what happened?"
Beomgyu was silent for a moment before sighing. "Obviously, he would be. You left him without saying goodbye..why would he not be?"
"I didn't mean to hurt his feelings," replied Yeonjun guiltily. "If I had known what the outcome would've been, I wouldn't have--"
Beomgyu cut him off before he could continue speaking, "Yeonjun, seriously. Why does that matter so much? You already have Soobin. Just be happy with him...okay?"
