Taehyun and Beomgyu were both enjoying the morning sun. They just finished eating their lunch together with their hyungs (Yeonjun and Soobin) earlier and now just chilling under the shade of the tree.
Taehyun was busy scrolling through his phone and Beomgyu was playing with a stray cat. The pair had been doing this for an hour and they were already in a comfortable place to spend the day without really getting tired from playing with animals.
Taehyun looked at the other boy, “Do you wanna go inside already?” He asked.Beomgyu shook his head, “No, it’s nice out here. I still wanna enjoy being able to stay here even when my friends are all inside… I don’t know what it is about cats but sometimes they seem more comforting than people….” Beomgyu answered thoughtfully. “And I just want to be alone with you too.” He smiled shyly at the other boy, hoping he would get his point across. Taehyun could feel how his heart skipped a beat at the other's words and he felt the corners of his lips turn up in a small smile. “Okay then, let’s stay here.” He said. It didn’t take long before they were settled in a position where they were sitting on the ground next to each other while resting their elbows on their thighs. The only difference between them now is that there wasn't any cat.
“You sure it’s not bothering you that we have no one else around? You can go in if you want—“
Beomgyu shushed the younger by placing a finger on his lips, silencing him completely, “We have each other, so why should we care about that?” He replied honestly, giving Taehyun a gentle squeeze on his hand. “Besides, it’s like you said before, we aren’t in a hurry,” he chuckled.
Taehyun blushed furiously at the other boy’s words and averted his gaze to look at the sky instead, “Yeah yeah… Let’s continue watching the clouds.” He mumbled absentmindedly.
He could sense Beomgyu smiling beside him and decided to keep quiet. Then he felt him lean against his chest and he was glad. This kind of closeness made him feel warm all over. The warmth of Beomgyu’s body seeped into his own and they remained that way for some time until Taehyun finally spoke up again, “Come here,” he murmured gently, wrapping an arm around Beomgyu’s waist so he could pull him closer.
After a second Beomgyu moved to lay on top of Taehyun, who gladly wrapped an arm around his shoulders. He sighed contently, “This is nice.” He admitted.
“You’re so warm,” Taehyun told him simply. He couldn’t help but feel the other boy pressed against him and how perfectly they fit together. Taehyun was happy with how things were right now—with the sun beating down on them while making them both comfortable and safe, with the calm and peaceful atmosphere surrounding them. “And you’re cold,” Beomgyu looked up at Taehyun and smiled softly, “but I’m not bothered by it since we are still in the shade.” He whispered, closing his eyes so he could savour this moment.
Taehyun nodded slightly and pulled Beomgyu closer again. He felt as if everything was perfect right now – nothing ever seemed better than being curled up together under the warm sun with another person.
But suddenly a memory came to mind. Their kiss. The first one that Beomgyu actually initiated last night. He was still shocked to think about that, how Beomgyu took the initiative, how he kissed Taehyun. And yet he didn’t regret the kiss. He liked it. His whole body tingled. A soft chuckle escaped him and he felt Beomgyu stir slightly, confused. “What is it?”
“Nothing, I just remembered something.” Taehyun brushed off the other’s question and turned back towards the sky.He watched the clouds moving lazily, the blue sky above them stretching as far as he could see. He wondered what was going through Beomgyu’s mind. Was he also thinking about that? How did he react to it?
