Nihl looked up at the masses of bugs.
Seeing how the air shimmered around some brightly, their unstable mass splitting into two slightly smaller versions... So even the minions can multiply now, and not just the clone emanator creates them.
She span the staff, grabbing it in both hands.
Energy crackled through her hands and up the staff, shifting from a spear to a scythe head.
"I clear the way." She said, bending the knees and putting her left foot back. "You deal with the emanator."
"Wait!" But she didn't listen to the living stelleron.
In zap of energy, Nihl had departed from her spot.
Jumping up to reach the nearest bug, scythe brandished over her shoulder before slashing down diagonally, splattering the mucus-y blood around as she landed and swiped the scythe around around while spinning, making it completely two turns around her in the time of one she made herself.
Stelle was momentarily shocked... Sure she was one the receiving end of an almost death from her but this was a completely different sty--She covered her ears at the horrid sound of the instrument.
"Move it assistant, you heard her." Ruan Mei said but her gaze glued on the jittery bug that would have slipped past the defenses of a certain someone.
Hmm... She should have expected her to come here... And she still hadn't... Hmm... Deal with it later, first they need to deal with this.
"Ah, right!"
Rushing forwards, the run up seemed suddenly way larger then before now that she was fighting back and not running away successfully.
The clone was not moving, hovering in the corner, limbs shaking, as if it was getting sick over something.
Running faster even as a blockade of bugs formed ahead of her.
Nihl skidded on the ground, shoes squeaking before shifting her weapon to a spear and hurling it through the flank of the bugs, the moment after the spear exited, the energy shocked through their bodies and they fell, the stelleron running on unimpeded.
Running over and jumping to grab the spear from the wall, arches of energy sparking between the metal wall and the bare skin on her leg as she yanked the spear out of the wall and took a running start on that very wall, an energy discharge blasting her off it, heels impacting the nearest insect she jumped up from while cutting down.
Once again making the scythe come out, whipping it around in a circle, dicing the members of the swarm that converged on the stelleron, those bugs just about not hitting her as another strum of cords resonated through their bodies and fragile insides. Nihl landing just a bit in front of her.
Stelle had her wrist grabbed as Nihl span on herself and threw her up towards the emanator.
Flailing a moment before gathering herself, seeing that there is no way she'd reach it seconds before a trident headed staff bolted through the air, cracking into the beasts skull but not killing it.
Snapping out her hand to grab it, the momentum of her fall spinning her around it, letting go on the upwards swing.
She wanted to land on its back but the improvised move stalled her in the air so she just grabbed her bat with both hand and, while coming down, slammed it down on the cracked skull with all her strength.
A sickening squelch as the bug's head split into two but the roar of pain showed it being alive.
"Arg!!" Crying out as a thin but powerful leg whacked into her ribs, sending her flying down.
Bouncing off the ground before impacting something that also gasped in pain.
Stelle groaned, laying on her stomach as she pushed herself up, seeing it was Ruan Mei that had been her unfortunate landing spot, sprawled out on her back under her but looking ahead and not at her... Stelle did too, head snapping back. Eye-X having gone bouncing off as the impact was too violent to hold on but it quickly scooted back to the humans.
And...
And seeing a huge ray of white energy charge up in the emanator's mandibular grabs.
The air was filled with a whooshing sound and winds picked up under the concentration of the prepared blast, making her cover it with her hand to protect her eyes as it was blinding... Until a shadow covered it.
Nihl was not a fool, she knew even if this emanator was a fraction of what it was meant to be, another failure, such a blast would not only kill them but destroy the space station.
Nothing could tank that blast, not here.
But she still stood in front of those two that were knocked down, arms held apart, staring down the bug.
Lucky them all, they didn't need to test how powerful such a blast would have been.
The energy that had been building up fizzled out as the bug shrieked and violently twitched, it's body slowly turning to dust and soon even the dust fell apart, the smaller bugs also following their hive mind into death.
The instability of such a life form becoming its doom.
Nihl dropping her arms with a silent sigh through her nose, watching the winds settle before walking ahead to where her staff fell to pick it up.
Stelle finally got of Ruan Mei and helped her up as Eye-X bounced off.
"You have a lot of explaining to do." She told the scientist.
"I suppose I do." She replied to Stelle who didn't look all that happy.
Stelle jumped when she felt a touch on her neck from behind, snapping her arm up and swatting the hand away.
"Worry not, you're healthy, you might bruise from that fall." Nihl casually said.
"Great the two touchy ladies in one room." She muttered to herself... Today was tiring... "Well, explain." She said on a hear-able tone this time.
"I would much prefer leaving this place first." She casually stated.
"I want my explanation now."
"Then follow me." Nihl simply said, "There is a safer spot. I cannot be sure all of the swarm has self annihilated after the death of the emanator, I am not taking risks."
Stelle didn't find, or was scared to find, fault in Nihl's words and Ruan Mei's opinion didn't matter as it would have been to leave this place.
Both agreeing in their own way for different reasons.
