I jumped as Kate appeared next to me, she was panting heavily and an expression of confusion crossed my face. As I turn around and I see nothing there.
"Uh Kate are you okay? " she stands up looks at me I see there is something she wants to say but she remains silent. I give her a look of concern but she stands up straight and fixes herself and I feel this overwhelming sense of dread, but I can't figure out what it is. I look around it's early in the morning so most people are driving to work I don't see anyone except for some people in suits walking about. All of them seem to pay no attention to us we are in a city but it seems so monotone and there's an edge of solitude in the air that makes no one want to talk. I turn to start to walk to school I don't want to be late and I begin a steady pace.
Kate follows close behind me I feel like there are eyes burning into my back so I quicken my pace and I turn the corner and Kate calls out to me.
"Hey! Hey Akomori slow down!" I stop and turn Kate stops at my side and links her arm with mine my arm flushes with warmth as I look away. "Why'd you do that?" I feel confused "don't think about it.” Is the only thing that she said to me so I walked with her to school like that arms linked but as the school is in sight she lets go, and runs away from me. Into the school building I continue my steady parade I walk though the big double doors, and I smile at the students most smile back. They respect me I am there class president I speak in a happy preppy voice as I make my way to class.
