Chapter 7: How to Variant 101

First of all, sorry for the long wait between chapters, I've been busy with work and playing Genshin

Second, I plan on making some adjustments to the bio chapter to include some abilities, weapons and suits each variant has

WEDNESDAY

Lee: "just absorb as much as you can.. just how you normally would"

"It feels weird.."

He tasks me with absorbing cosmic energy from another world (hence why it felt strange). This just happened to be what he had available in these futuristic power cells, almost like a big battery.

You see, as the variant 'Amber' I can absorb any energy to use as my own. The drawback here is the amount I can hold at a time has been reduced since coming to the crossover.

This variant is also the Lunar maiden so most of her power comes from the cosmos (along with previous Lunar maidens).

Though for now, Lee is more or less testing to see if the energy will stay after I switch to another variant and back

Lee: "whenever you are ready. Just switch to another variant, any one. Then switch back"

I concentrate on holding in the energy before 'letting go of the wheel' and I let the 'Respawn' variant take over

Long story short.. I do hold some.. but a very small amount, which could only be left since I caught it before fully depleting

Later

Miss Goodwitch: "you mustn't always rely so heavily on your powers and weapons, otherwise without them.. well the likely option would be severe injury or even death"

Miss Goodwitch: "so Headmaster Ozpin has asked me to evaluate your current skills at hand to hand combat"

"Ok, that sounds easy enough"

Miss Goodwitch: "this training android will block any attacks when it can, parry when you leave yourself open and gauge the quality of any hits you land, just like how another person would fight"

"So fight a realistic android that fights like a person. Cool"
I reply with a nod

Miss Goodwitch: "alright then, it says here you have many variants we must test. Let's start with the least skilled then work our way up"

"So Wild first then"

Miss Goodwitch: "whenever you are ready"
She says pressing a button on her scroll that activates a sparring android

In a robotic motion, the android raises its arms and takes a fighting stance. Despite the adequate padding, the android still looks intimidating

Wild: "does.. does anyone else wanna go first? Heh.."
He nervously laughs

THURSDAY

Lee: "so this is the variant you call Traveler?"

"That's right"

Lee: "so you have two weapons that can harness one element each as this variant?"

"A bow of fire and spear of lightning"

Lee: "you have a male and female form as this variant? Each getting one of those weapons each"

"Yeah, the guy gets the bow and the spear for the girl"

Lee: "are they locked in having those weapons and elements or can they switch over?"

"As far as I can tell, it's locked in"
