One girl raises her hand and answers

Girl: "do the lands from the other side connect with ours"

Professor Ross: "precisely. The world on the other side is 'super imposed over ours' if you will, leaving the original timeline intact while expanding this world"

Someone asks a question

Boy: "what happens if something on this side goes through one of those rifts?"

Someone else asks another question

Girl: "how do we know when one is about to happen"

Professor Ross: "nobody knows what happens when you pass through the rift or how to predict another event"
The class murmurs among themselves

Professor Ross: "alright, settle down, settle down class"

Looking down the road a few cars stranded with people still inside and people running frantically with no obvious destination.

They need help..

My help..

Pulling a cloth mask out my jacket pocket I slip into a nearby alley way

Throwing off my jacket and lifting my shirt off to reveal my makeshift hero outfit underneath

Lumine: "(Y/n)! We need to get everyone insi- (y/n).. what are you wearing.."
I turn and she gets a better look

Lumine: "you're the.."

"New vigilante that's gonna protect the streets yada yada yada. I'm sorry I never told you.. but if anyone knew .. they could get hurt"

Lumine: ".. talk about it later. Go do hero stuff"
She pats my shoulder with a wink

"Yes ma'am"
I wall jump till I land on the roof

Lumine: "just promise me this. Promise you'll be safe"
She says with obvious concern in her voice

"I.. I'll try"

Wild: "way to go lady killer"

Lunar: "you sure swept her off her feet"

"Yeah yeah.. let's just go"
I think to myself and my variants

I use my web shooters to swing back out the alley and towards the people who need help

What I didn't notice was Lumine watching me go, a hand closed over her chest to help calm her nerves
