TWs: mentions of death, amnesia, kidnapping, mentions of seizures
Note: I might do a second part of this, I might not

Lily softly smiled at her son, gently kissing his forehead. Her heart ached as she watched him get onto the train for the first time. The young mother knew that he would be okay, but it still was a bittersweet moment. Her baby boy was off to his first day at Hogwarts. He didn't know anyone there, he was alone. Lily had no doubt he wouldn't be able to find someone to befriend before he even got to the school.

If only James was there to see this. Yes, his sacrifice was what brought Harry and her to still be alive, but she still missed her husband so much. James had been such a kind, bright soul who had learned from his past mistakes to make himself better and was loyal to the people he loved.

Losing James was the hardest thing she ever had to go through, and she had cut contact with her sister (well, more like her sister cut contact with her). Severus and Peter betrayed her, her parents were dead, and she survived a war. But losing James had been so much harder, he had been there to support her through everything. Then he wasn't there to support her through this loss.

The train had left and she shut her eyes. Tears rolled down her cheeks as she mentally wished her son goodbye, telling him in her mind that both of his parents were so proud of him.

She could not believe that she was out, looking for a date. Lily had gone to a bar with Sirius and Remus, the married couple deciding to be her wingmen. It had taken ten years, but she believed she was finally ready to start dating and now had the time with Harry at school until Christmas.

Lily sat at the bar, drinking her cosmopolitan slowly. It was a little bitter, but she liked the bitterness. Her nails had been painted (something she didn't like, but Sirius insisted) a bright white. Her hair had been braided by Sirius and a light brushing of makeup covered her face. A white sundress flowed down to her knees and a pair of sandals rested on her feet.

Sirius patted her shoulder. "Lighten up, Lily. I know it's hard, but he would want you to move on. James wanted you to be happy and he can't be here anymore."

"I know, but it hurts."

"It hurts, I know," Remus said as he gently hugged her. "It will always hurt, the hurt of him being gone will always be there in your heart. But it will lessen until it's a dull ache in the back. You will always love James, but it's time to move on and let yourself love someone again."

Lily shut her eyes and nodded with a soft sigh. "Thank you."

She stood up once Remus let go of her and held her drink close as she wandered around the bar. A black haired man in the back caught her eye. He was goofily dancing with a blond man. Lily watched them to see if they were together or just hanging out as friends.

The blond sat down, jabbing his thumb at Lily. "You've got an audience."

"How do you know she's not here for you, Mikey?"

"Because she's staring at you, Jimmy." Mikey shrugged. "Go talk to her."

Jimmy looked at Lily then walked over, giving her a weirdly familiar smirk. "Hello, I'm Jimmy Potts. Who are you?"

"Lily Potter." She set her finished glass down and smiled softly. "How old are you?"

"I don't actually know," he admitted. "I don't remember anything before ten years ago. Gave myself my name and built myself life."

She raised an eyebrow. "Oh really?"

He nodded. "Yep. Mikey thinks I'm in my early thirties, if that's what you're worried about."

Lily smiled softly. "I'm thirty-one."

Jimmy was so funny, Lily couldn't stop laughing at a joke he had made. Once the two calmed down, Lily leaned against his shoulder and sighed softly. Jimmy gently ran a hand through her hair and smiled.

"You feeling okay, Lily?" he decided to ask.

"I'm happy with you, I really am."

"But?"

"I still miss my husband."

Jimmy softened. "I know you do. You never did explain to me how he died."

Lily sighed softly and rubbed his hand. "He was murdered. My son and I are lucky to still be alive, but we both have physical scars from it."

His eyes widened and he moved to be kneeling in front of her. "Hey, you're alive. Your son is alive. I'm sure he would be so proud of you and wonderful person you are today." He grabbed her hands. "But you aren't alone. You have your son, your husband's best friends, and now you have me and Mikey. I know I'm not this James guy, I will never replace him, but I like you a lot. I want to continue to build my life with you."

Lily smiled softly then kissed his forehead. "I like you a lot too."

"How about I tell you my earliest memory since you told me how he died?"

"If you want to."

"I do want to. Ten years ago, I woke up in a dark room, I was tied up and alone. My body was really sore, so I probably had a seizure and bumped my head really bad. The doctor said that I've had them for maybe a year before, but there's no solid proof. I didn't know my name, how old I was, nothing. I knew nothing at all and it was so scary. I noticed some broken glass and used it to untie myself. I ran for a little while and eventually ran into Mikey, who then helped me figure things out and let me stay with him. He's like my brother, and I love him."

"That's so sweet of him to do. I'm glad you aren't alone. Thank you for trusting me."
