Harry was so excited to see Ron, just the thought of his best friend causing his heart to pound loudly in his eyes. Yes, he should be worried about Sirius Black trying to kill Harry and his friends, but he couldn't help wanting to live a life. And that life had Ron in it.
Ron was on his bed when Harry came in, giving him a glance then shrugging. Harry sometimes had a bubbly personality, something that when he asks others about, they just give him a blank stare. He didn't really know that the bubbliness was just when it was those two and Harry felt safe enough to let his guard down completely around his best friend.
"Hello, Ron." Harry sat on his own bed, seeing that Ron was working on some homework with an annoyed expression on his face. "How long have you been working on homework?"
"An hour."
"Why don't you take a break then?" Harry suggested. "I have some candy we can share."
Ron lit up at the mention of candy, just like every other time someone suggested any kind of food that he loved. He set the supplies down and stood up, flopping onto Harry's bed. Harry laughed and opened his bedside drawers to grab the bag of candy. He dumped it onto his blanket.
The redhead reached out, but Harry slapped his hand away so he could dig through and find his favorites so Ron couldn't steal them like he had in the past. Ron chuckled and let him do that before the two started eating the candy.
Occasionally, Ron would make eye contact with Harry, who grinned widely at him. Soon enough, most of the candy was gone and chocolate covered both of their faces. Harry got up and cleaned up the wrappers, tossing Ron a rag to clean up his face. He cleaned up his own face and sat back onto his bed, the movement making the mattress bounce Ron a little.
"You feeling better?"
Ron nodded and laid on his back, his feet touching the ground. "Hey, Harry?"
"Yeah, Ron?"
"So, I've been talking to Lavender a lot more recently." Ron's cheeks pinkened a little. "She's really pretty."
Harry's smile didn't falter, but his heart sank considerably. "Do you like her?"
"I do." Ron smiled toothily. "She's really nice and supportive."
"Are you planning on asking her out?"
"I would like to. Do you think I should?"
"If it'll make you happy, I don't see why you can't."

"I think Harry's mad at me," Ron whined at George. Fred was in the hospital wing with a pretty bad fever, so George hung out with Ron after being kicked out for disturbing the peace.
"Why do you say that?"
"A couple weeks ago, I told him that I like Lavender. He and I had a good talk and he said to go for it if it'll make me happy, and I am happy with her. But he's been distant."
"Do you want me to talk to him?"
Ron nodded quickly. "He won't even talk to me. Hermione is worried about it too."
George patted his head. "I shall comply, my dear little brother. I will get to the bottom of why he's not talking to you."

George found Harry, accidentally startling the poor teen boy. "Heyo, Harry."
Harry looked at him then blinked. "It's still weird just seeing one of you."
The older laughed. "Trust me, it's weird for me too. But that's not why I'm here. What's going on with you and Ron?"
"Is it that obvious?"
