Chapter 17

“You what?” De’Andre asked while looking back and forth from me and Damari. I moved away from Damari.

“F*ck it, Basically De’Andre, me and Kadeem have been...” I hit him hard, in his penis and he shut up. I smiled at De’Andre as he screwed me.

“Carry on Damari.” He said. I looked over at Damari who was bent over covering his piece. I smirked, that’s what he gets for trying to expose me. I would tell De’Andre...when I was ready.

“De’ please it really doesn’t matter...please. Just leave it.” I said. He looked at me slowly before nodding. I looked over at Damari who was now standing up straight shaking his head.

“Alright, well we need to sort out some stuff... the wedding” De’Andre said while sitting on a kitchen stool.

“Like...?” Damari asked, while taking a drink out of the fridge.

“Like the church, invites, reception, food...etc. Oh and suits and your dress Kadeem.” De’Andre said.

“Oh...yeah...I still aint told my family you know...” I said,

“Hm...Damari you stay, calls Devante tell him to come with Sa’Vannah or something, me and Kadeem will go to her mum’s yard.” Damari nodded.

“La’Shyra asleep yeah?” I nodded. I put my shoes on while De’Andre got his keys.

“Let’s go”

**

We knocked on the door and waited for someone to come to the door.

“Kadeem!” I looked up to see Nevaeh standing there.

“Oh my gosh! VAEH!” I hugged her. You may remember Nevaeh as my little cousin who got pregnant for Kwarmie. I was still after him.

We stepped into the house.

“Who else is here?” I asked her.

“Uhm well...everyone.” She replied.

“Oh right, well this is De’Andre.” I said while pointing towards him. We walked into the living room to see Uncle Trey, Aunt Shaniiae, Romeon, Tremaine Jnr Nevaeh’s son, and everyone else.

“Hi guys,” I said while smiling. They all smiled at me and De’Andre. “De’Andre, the extended family.” I said while pointing towards Aunt Shan, Uncle Trey and Romeon.  He nodded at them and smiled.

“Hi.” They said,. Right..

We made our way to an empty seat.

“How you been Kadeem?” Romeon asked. I smiled at him

“Great...” I looked at De’Andre who was just talking to my brothers.

“Where’s Kai?” I asked Shamar

“At home.” I nodded. I looked over at Aunt Shan; whose hair was just about growing back

“How’s the treatment going?” I asked her.

“Good, going back to the hospital tomorrow.” I nodded. Tremaine Jnr, ran up to me and jumped on my lap, I hugged him.

“How’s La’Shyra?” My mum asked.

“She’s fine...Well uhm me and De’Andre have some...uhm...news.” I said while smiling.

“Another baby?” Shamari asked while kissing his teeth.

“No...Ah.”

“Then what?” Uncle Trey asked.

“Well were getting married init.” De’Andre said while spudding Shamar who was smiling.

I looked over to my mum who looked pissed. For some reason she never liked De’Andre. She thought he was typical boy. Into drugs, beats every girl he sees, get them pregnant and then bounces

“What do you mean? You’re getting married to that?” She asked referring to De’Andre. She stood up and kissed her teeth. “He’s a typical boy, disgracing us black people.”

“Mum...” I slowly said

“Kadeem let me finish. Another boy who sells drugs for a living, another boy that goes around getting girls pregnant. Just like your dad was.” She said.

“Lydia, leave it.” Uncle Trey said.

“Mum shut up seriously.” Shamari said. I looked over at De’Andre who was getting pissed off. His eyes went a darker shade of brown. I could tell he was trying to calm down, especially since it was my mum.

“Ma, shut up you don’t know jack.” I said before standing up.

“Really? I don’t? Well then tell me. He was probably the reason you lost your child, in the first place.” She said while shrugging. Thar was it for De’Andre. He stood up.

“Actually, I aint like none of that. I aint addicted to drugs and I don’t go around getting girls pregnant. Don’t piss me off. Get to know, before you chat shit.” He punched the wall, kissed his teeth and walked out.

“Mum, why? Why couldn’t you just shut your mouth seriously?” I asked “He weren’t the reason i lost my baby,” I felt my eyes well up with tears.

“Invites will be sent in the post.” With that I walked out of the house.
