Travis's POV

Monday couldn't come soon enough. I couldn't wait to see Taylor again. The moment the bell rang, signaling the end of my last class, I practically sprinted to the library.

Spotting her in her usual spot, I made my way over and took the seat next to her.

"Hey," I said, unable to keep the smile off my face. I knew exactly where she would be. Taylor had a free period before lunch on Mondays, and she always spent it in the same spot in the library. It had become our unofficial meeting place, and I couldn't imagine starting the week any other way.

"Hey, Travis," Taylor greeted me with a warm smile, her eyes lighting up as I approached.

"Hey," I replied, feeling a rush of excitement at seeing her again. "Ready to tackle Animal Farm?"

Taylor chuckled. "Absolutely. Let's do this."

As we delved into our tutoring session, I found myself getting lost in our conversation. Taylor had a way of making even the most challenging topics seem interesting, and before I knew it, the bell signaling the end of our free period was ringing.

"Same time on Wednesday?" Taylor asked, gathering her books.

"Yeah, definitely," I replied, already looking forward to our next session.

As Taylor packed up her things, I hesitated for a moment before gathering the courage to ask her.

"Hey, um... there's a party on Friday night. I was wondering if you'd want to come with me?"

Taylor looked surprised for a moment before a hint of hesitation crossed her face.

"I... I don't know, Travis. Parties aren't really my thing," she admitted, fidgeting with the strap of her bag.

"It'll be fun, I promise, and if you want to leave i will take you home. I don't drink." I urged, hoping she would say yes.

After a moment of contemplation, Taylor finally nodded. "Okay, sure. Why not?"

A smile spread across my face as I thanked her, already looking forward to spending more time with her outside of our tutoring sessions.

"I can't believe you're going to a party. Are you sure you don't want me to take you?" Abigail, the red-haired girl, sat on my bed, watching me as I came in and out of the room, trying on countless dresses, most of them shorter than what I would normally wear.

"I'll text you if I need you. Travis promised he would bring me home as soon as I want to leave," I replied, pulling the dress down so less skin was showing. Despite my nerves about the party, I couldn't help but feel a flutter of excitement in my stomach at the thought of spending the evening with Travis.

"If he has even one drink, you call me. I am not having a boy risk your life," Abigail said, her tone serious as she got up from the bed and walked over to me, holding out a delicate necklace.

I nodded, feeling a surge of gratitude for Abigail's protectiveness. "I will, I promise," I said, taking a deep breath as she helped me put on the necklace.

As I glanced at myself in the mirror, I couldn't help but feel a twinge of nerves. Parties weren't really my thing, and the idea of going with Travis made me feel both excited and anxious. But I pushed those feelings aside, reminding myself that I had promised to step out of my comfort zone more often.
