Taylor's POV

I stood just outside the front doors of the school, nervously tapping my foot as I waited for Travis. We had agreed to meet for tutoring during lunch on Mondays and Wednesdays, and he would come to my house on Thursdays after school.

"Swift, you done with your little album yet?" One of the football players called out to me. It wasn't a secret that I had signed a record deal during my junior year, but it led to a lot of teasing.

"Bro, leave her alone. She's fine," Travis intervened, walking down the stairs. I felt a wave of relief wash over me as he approached.

"Thanks," I said quietly, offering him a small smile as I climbed into his truck.

"We have a deal, do we not?" he asked, handing me his phone with the Maps app open for me to input my address.

"We do," I confirmed, returning his smile as I typed my address into his phone. Despite my nerves, I couldn't help but feel a flutter of excitement as I realized I was about to spend more time with Travis outside of school.

He pulled up in front of my house, and I led him inside, feeling a strange mix of nervousness and excitement.

"I'm home, Mom!" I called out as we entered the living room.

"Leave the door open!" she called back from the kitchen, her voice faint but warm.

Travis and I settled down on the couch, and he began pulling his books out of his bag. I couldn't help but steal a glance at him when he wasn't looking. There was something about the way his brow furrowed in concentration that made my heart skip a beat.

"So, what text are you studying at the moment?" I asked, taking a deep breath to steady my nerves.

"Animal Farm, I think," Travis replied, reaching into his bag and pulling out the book.

"Okay, I want to go through any key points you have on what you've read, and then we'll talk about how to structure an essay on those points," I said, feeling a surge of confidence as I grabbed my laptop and opened it up on the coffee table in front of us.

I motioned for Travis to sit closer, trying to keep my voice steady despite the butterflies in my stomach. This was my chance to show him that I was a good tutor, that he could trust me to help him improve his grades. And maybe, just maybe, it was also my chance to get to know him better.

And that's exactly what we did. Over the next month, we spent almost four hours a week together. Our two 45-minute lunch sessions became a routine, and although Thursdays were supposed to be just an hour and a half, they almost always ran over, not that I was complaining.

As we worked through Animal Farm and various other texts, I realized that Travis was much more than just a star player . He was intelligent, curious, and surprisingly perceptive. Our tutoring sessions were slowly turning into genuine conversations, and I found myself looking forward to them more and more each week.

We were definitely getting to know each other a lot better. Although we never said anything in person, our texts were becoming a nearly daily thing. I learned about Travis's family, including the fact that his brother had moved away from home for university.

In our time together, I had also played songs for him, some of them were about him, but he didn't need to know that, at least not yet.

And travis kept his half of the deal, The bullying went from being an hourly occorance to almost nothing, i hadn't heard a comment about my music in weeks nobody had said anything about me being 'little miss perfect' and I knew who to thank for that.

As travis sat next to me typing away I was in my own bubble texting Abigail.

Abi - Bet you he forgets you after you stop tutoring him

Tay-Tay - bet you he dosen't

Abi - You're falling for him

Tay-Tay - Tell me you wouldn't

Abi - No because he plays football

Tay-Tay - He isn't like the others he is genuinely so sweet

Abi - As long as he dosen't hurt you I trust you but if he brakes that fragile little heart of yours i will brake him

Tay-Tay - Thx ily

Travis's POV

"I'm actually shocked you took her offer," Pat said as we warmed up, stretching our muscles before practice.

"Didn't have much choice. Can't afford to be kicked off the team, not senior year," I replied, trying to keep my tone casual as we jogged back to join the rest of the team.

The truth was, I hadn't expected to enjoy spending time with Taylor as much as I did. At first, I had agreed to the tutoring sessions because I needed to pass English to stay on the team and graduate. But now, I found myself looking forward to our sessions, not just because they were helping me improve my grades, but because I genuinely enjoyed spending time with her.

"You coming to the party tomorrow?" Danial asked, slapping me on the back as we finished up practice. Danial was our backup quarterback, but he acted like a starter, strutting around as if he was the most important player on the team. Sure, when he played, he was good, but it was rare that he actually got any game time. He was more of a substitute than a teammate.

"Nah, gotta study," I replied, grabbing my helmet off the table and heading towards the locker room.

"Come on, dude, you haven't been to one in ages. Besides, there are plenty of girls who will be there," he insisted, giving me a playful shove.

I shrugged off his comment, "I'll think about it,"

but truth be told, I hadn't been to a party in months. Between football practice, tutoring sessions with Taylor, and trying to keep up with my schoolwork, I barely had any free time. But as I headed home that evening, I couldn't help but wonder what it would be like to go to a party again, especially if i could get taylor to go with me.

I sat at my desk, staring at my most recent English paper. It was the first time I had ever gotten a B in this class, and all the credit went to Taylor. I hadn't told her about it yet. I couldn't tell you why, but I was nervous to tell her. Maybe it was because I didn't want to seem too eager or because I was afraid of what she would think of me.

I pulled my phone out and started typing.

Travis Kelce - Thanks for the help. Got a B on the essay. Was thinking of going to a party tomorrow. Wondering if you would want to come?

I stared at the message for a few minutes, my heart pounding in my chest, before finally getting the courage to press send. As soon as I did, I felt a wave of nervousness wash over me. What if she said no? What if she thought I was just asking her out of pity? What if she didn't want to spend time with me outside of our tutoring sessions?

The three dots appeared on my screen, indicating that Taylor was typing, and I sat there staring at my phone, waiting anxiously for her reply.

Finally, her message came through.

Taylor S - Well done! I'm really proud of you. I can't make it to the party tomorrow. I have a writing session after school and a recording session early on Saturday. Sorry.

I felt a pang of disappointment, but I quickly reminded myself that Taylor had her own commitments and responsibilities. Besides, just because she couldn't make it to the party didn't mean we couldn't hang out some other time.

Travis Kelce - No worries. Maybe we can hang out another time?

I hit send, hoping she would say yes.
