The Boys in the Orphanage

Boys and Gals

It's been some weeks at the orphanage,I've gotten used to it by now.

Vision blurred and the sun shining into his eyes as he violently gets shaked awake,

„Wake up Todd Wake up!!" A familiar voice hushed,it was Burton.
As Todd wakes up in a shocked manner,thinking someone just died he quickly rubs open his eyes as he just sees Burton standing  over him,smiling as he chuckles
„There's a girl here!A girl!"
„What the hell are you talking about Burton.." Todd spoke in a tired manner as Burton pulled him up from his bed.
„Just get dressed and come to the dining room,we have mashed potatoes and peas today" Burton spoke one last time before rushing off,the door banging shut behind him.

As Todd got dressed,a million thoughts rushed through his head.
When he finally arrived at the dining room he saw the girl,quiet as she stood beside Ms.Applebury at the front of the long table.She looked troubled,sick even.
He sat down next to Burton with two other of his friends which he told Todd about once,Archie was the one with the ginger hair and glasses sitting across him and seated beside him was a younger brunette boy named Gregory.As the two boys joked about her sick looking appearance Ms.Applebury spoke.
„Silence!" the room quickly went mute.
„This is our guest for a couple of nights,welcome her with open arms." She spoke as she looked at Archie which quickly washed the grin off of his face.

She sat down right beside Ms.Applebury as she mumbled stuff and didn't really eat anything but just cut up the food on her plate and move it around a bit,having no sign of appetite.
As break came around everyone immediately rushed to the new girl,not even knowing her name.
„New girl what's your name?"
„New girl why are you so pale?"
„New girl what's wrong?"
Everyone spoke as they surrounded her but Ms.Applebury quickly came out and put an end to this as she took the new girl,gave us a disappointed look and left to go back inside with her.
After turning to Burton it was obvious to Todd that Ms.Applebury was disappointed in Burton since he was her favorite and he just stood in the crowd laughing and bugging the girl to finally be apart of the others since they normally just left him out."Whatever,who likes gals anyway." Burton spoke as he turned and walked away to his place in the little forest as he mumbled stuff like ‚annoying'.Seems like he didn't like all the attention she was getting.
Todd looked around if anyone seemed to be watching as he sneaked back into the orphanage and followed to where Ms.Applebury was taking the girl,which was in a room in the same hall as the dorms of the caretakers. As the girl entered the room Ms.Applebury closed it and walked off,this was Todd's chance. He entered the room slowly as he creaked the door open and peeked with one eye,a stuffed animal being thrown at him but he got the chance to hide behind the door.As the girl noticed he wasn't there for any harm he  walked in and closed the door behind him quietly.
„Who are you?" he asked.
The girl didn't speak as she just sat on the floor of the dark room,no lights,just some old slightly torn walls and old girl stuffed animals and wooden horses which were dusty.It seemed like this room wasn't used in ages since girls aren't really here anymore.
„Alright..sorry about my friend Burton,he's a bit of a tease sometimes."
„It's fine." The girl had a voice!
„I'm not ‚girl' by the way,I'm Teresa"
„Good to know" Todd chuckled as he sat down on the floor opposite of her.
„Im lost,I don't know where I am and I miss my mom"
„well..you're at an orphanage," he spoke as he moved the toy wooden train back and forth „and we're going to help you."
„Mister Clifton." Todd heard a strong voice appear behind him and Teresa looked terrified,it was Ms.Applebury.
As Todd yelled and begged to Madam Applebury to just let him explain she pulls him by the collar of his uniform and throws him into an empty classroom where exams usually get taken.The basement like area as probably older than him and incredibly dusty,making him cough. „Think about what you're doing before disobeying the rules of the orphanage,i don't want to see you near that girl ever again" Ms.Applebury spoke before slamming the door shut and as Todd ran to the door trying to open it he heard the keys rattle at the other side of the door,locking it.
