Chapter 2

I sat with Bryan on his couch, eyes glued to his laptop, we were trying to edit a video of a Q and A for my youtube channel. We could't figure out what filters to use, effects or slides.

We've been at this for half an hour.
Johnnie, his roomate, not knowing I was here steps out of his room. Hair in a mess, pajama bottoms on and a tee shirt.
"Hey Johnnie!"
He turns around, surprised to see me sitting in his living room, slightly embarrassed.
"Oh, uhh, Hey Alex. Uhh," He says almost tripping backwards over some cables on the floor.
"How long have ya, uh, been here?"
"A little over an hour,"
"Oh nice, heh."

Johnnies P.O.V.

Oh god.
Why was she here. Especially when I look like this.
And god, those cables. I almost fell on my ass right in front of her.

Alex, well, her and I have film class together. That's how we all met.
She was beautiful, kind of shy and mysterious. Smart and funny.
I was quiet in public. I cracked jokes. Had a passion for film, and you can very much tell she fell in love with that same passion.
She was just, amazing.

"Johnnie," said Bryan
"Yeah"
I quickly snapped out of my daydream.
"Listen, We all had plans to go out on Friday, well tomorrow, but my grandma's visiting and my mom wants me to go have dinner with them, and Jordan, Kyle and Damon are triple dating so that just leaves Alex with no plans."
"I'll hang out Alex." I said way too excited.
"Cool," I'll see you then.
Thanks Bryan for the help!
Later guys!"
And she walked out the door.

"You're welcome," Bryan said with a laugh when the door closed.
"How'd you know."
"The way you look at her, the way you get so nervous when she's around" He said while closing his bedroom door shut.

Alex's P.O.V.

Making my way to my car in Bryan and Johnnie's driveway, I can't stop smiling.

Johnnie was very cute. He loved filming and working with a computer. His laugh was adorable. His smile was brighter then anything. And, I've been wanting to hang out more and talk more, just he and I.

I pull out of the front and head down the road, giddy with excitement.

Johnnys POV

Friday comes along and its already 5:00 pm. I shower and brush my wet hair to the side over my forehead. Put on a little eyeliner and adjust my lip ring. Spray some axe and head to Byrans room.
"Well, what do you think?"
"Nice, nice. Axe, great touch,"
"Oh shutup,"
I head to the living room and sit on the couch, flip on the t.v. and watch Warped Roadies.
One day I want to be there. In the middle of all that action, tpuring with amazing people.

The door bell rings and I jump up.
Walk through the hall to the front door and check my hair in thr mirror. I open the door and there she is, standing looking at the ground, and her beautiful eyes flash up.

Alex's POV

I stood there as the door opened. I look up from the ground and meet with his bright grey-blue eyes. Wow, his eyes wide open and biting his lip ring.

Johnnies POV

Woah, she looked amazing. She was wearing a blue dress that went up mid thigh, with a black lace cover up over her shoulders and arms.
Her hair was straightened with a hair band and a flower.
Eyeliner and long eyelashes. And pink lipstick.

"You, you, look uhh, uh, amazing." I stuttered.

"Thanks, so do you," She said and I could see the blush in her cheeks.

Alex's POV

My cheeks just got really hot.
Did he just say I looked amazing.
Wow.

"So what's the plan for tonight?," he said with a smile.

"Maybe we can grab a bite?!"

"Sounds great. After you my lady,"

"Thanks," I said trying not to laugh too hard.

Johnnies POV

Goddamn, her laugh is way too cute.

I opener her door and let her climb in to my car.
I walk around and jump in the drivers seat.
We pull out of our driveway and head to Applebees.
After an hour of laughing and empty spaghetti plates, we take off.

Alex's POV

Sitting in his car, I'm thinking to myself that I dont want to go home. I want to stay with Johnnie longer.
Grtting away from all the bull shit of my parents' divorce. Just away.

Johnnies POV

Instead of pulling onto Alex's street. I go straight foreward.
"Johnnie?"
"Shh, trust me," I said, cracking a crooked smile.
"Okay,"

I pull my car down a dirt road and park it by a closed off gate.

I step out of the car and slam it shut.
"Where are we?" Alex questions.

"Just watch," I said ducking under the gate, signaling for Alex to follow.
We follow down a cleared path that leads to an opening.

By then it's 9:30 at night.

I see the familiar clearing as the path ends and sheets of sands begin.

Alex's POV

"Wow Johnnie," I say, trying to find the words to describe this beautiful view.
I take off my black flats and step onto the warm sand.

"You like it" Johnnie said with a smile.

"It's amazing," I said, eyes glossy, looking back into the water, only yards away from my barefeet.

"I'm glad," he said, bending his knees to sit on the sand when we're only feet away from the ocean waters.

I take a seat next to him and lean back using my arms for support.

The breeze is warm. Sand falling between my fingers.

"I use to come here as a kid, when things got tough. I'd just run here.
Just to get away," Johnnie explained in a hushed voice.

Silence fell over for a few moments.

"Do you ever just feel like leaving?"

I turned to him.

"Honestly...I do. Others think everythings well and all good for me but, it really isn't. Or wasn't.
Ever since the end of highschool I've been feeling empty. Feeling like, it's harder to trust people.
Since I moved out to go to college, my parents haven't called. I've heard from them once, and that was to ask if I wanted any stuff from my room because they were making it into an office. Things are better. Now that I have you guys around to support me and I to support you as much as I can.
I'm just, in a daze right now, and its going well for me."

Johnnies POV

"Alex, I, I understand. I'm,...I'm so sorrry." I gasp.

"No Johnnie, I'm sorry.
With all this bullshit in the world, it's just nice to get away."

She looks towards the water.

"I'm really glad we came here tonight Johnnie,"

I looked at her.

"I'm really glad you came with me,"

She looked at me and smiled. Her carefree, loving and sweet smile.

Without thinking, I started to lean in towards her.
She caught ehat I was doing and got closer.
Our lips were inches apart.
I slowly closed my eyes and pushed the hair that was in her face back behind her ear.
And the world fell silent.
