Part 2  September 2, 1:00 p.m, Thursday on ship

"Tell me you aren't going crazy over the lines of prophecy," Sam said. My fingers tapped against the wooden edges of the ship, thinking about a comeback. "And it's not bothering you?" I asked accusingly.  "Oh it totally is, but I thought you had more self control."
"Well I don't."

"Have you figured out the fifth person mentioned?" I questioned Sam. "It's probably a demigod," Sam replied, holding the sail. I tried to contemplate that thought. It would make sense if it was a demigod. Then our team would be 3 demigods, one god and one trash eating satyr. I tried to ask Apollo, since he is the god of prophecy, but he just walked away from me. We were not getting the "godly help" we were promised. And Blake hid himself in his room, trying to figure

out who the fifth person is on his "god tracker".  Apparently it also detects demigods. A god tracker just doesn't sound real.
Of course, I thought greek myths were fake until recently, so I guess I can't judge. Apollo seemed to feel unuseful. What can an archery/music/healing god do in the ocean? The answer is eating all of your rations.

Apollo and Blake are eating all the rations. Sam looked at the ocean, as of thinking about how she could shadow travel out of here. Her loyalty was the only thing keeping her from leaving. Blake ran out of his room. His tail was wagging and he was grinning widely. "I found out some news!" Blake exclaimed. Excuse me if I'm not jumping up and down in excitement. A moment passed. "It's a boy and he's a demigod." We waited for him to continue. "And he's a son of hephaestus," Blake said finally. A son of the god of fire and blacksmiths. My opposite. Sam noticed. "Something isn't right. Would the prophecy really match Alyssa with her polar opposite? I think it's a trap."   The ship took a halt. Sam had a point, but I think she's overreacting just a bit. Prophecys don't lie...right? 💀

Sam motioned for me to fix the problem. I sighed. While our ship kept hitting rocks, it was my job to get rid of the rocks with my 7 foot tall trident I got as a birthday gift (13 years later). You'd think I would enjoy the sentiment, but it's been mayhem ever since. Because that's how my life is. You get to lay back and relax while my friends and I are fighting beasts. Plus people can't see us while we're fighting, so we don't get any recognition. But first responder sounds good on my resume. Of course, it means I have to fight monsters 24/7, but otherwise I'm okay. It makes life more exciting.

I pushed the rocks off the shore. As I was doing this, a boy nudged my shoulder. I jumped. To be fair, when a stranger touches you, they can't expect you to not be surprised. "My name is Aidan Wagner," the boy said, sticking out his hand. I got up on my own (for safety reasons). I was about to walk away when Aidan said "I'm a son of Hephaestus."

That got my attention. I turned around. I decided to take the boy to the ship. As we walked back to the ship, I informed Aidan about our situation. He agreed to help us amd be part of the humanity saving group.
"Listen, don't say anything suspicious to my friends when I introduce you. They think a son of Hephaestus being in the prophecy is a trap from Eris." He nods. Sam, Blake, and Apollo all looked at me as if I brought a wolf in the house (which is not the weirdest thing that could happen to me at this point).
"Who is this?!" Sam asked to no one in particular. Everyone except Aidan eyed me dangerously, clearly wanting an answer. Geez, that interrogation started quick. I chose my words carefully.  "This, my friends, is Aidan Wagner."  "Where do you keep your weapons?" he asked.
When 3 people stare at you, who in the world says "Where do you keep your weapons?" That's the dumbest thing you could say to my friends when they see a newcomer. They looked like they wanted more answers, but I waved them off. I pushed Aidan into the bedroom. "Why would you say that? You sound like you're trying to kill someone!" I shouted, trying to keep my voice down. "It's a reasonable question if I want to help you kill a freaking goddess!" Aidan protested. I sighed. Being a demigod is so weird. I gave him a (personalized) tour of our ship, including the backup Greek fire. Aidan acted unimpressed, like he has seen this before. There was a tint of gold in his eyes. It fazed me a bit but I pushed the thoughts aside. Hes SUPPOSED to be here. The prophecy made it clear. Aidan went to talk to my friends. After a little while, they got used to him. Except Sam. She still acted a little weird toward him. What a worrier.

"So what do we need at Wyoming?"   "More greek fire," Blake answered. "Why is greek fire in Wyoming?" Sam asked with a confused look. "Some amazons that turned to Eris's side have been smuggling greek fire so they can use it on the day Eris will attack," Blake explained further. The amazons have been reduced to smugglers. I thought they would be the last to switch sides. Apollo came up to us. "I spoke to Aeolus. He said the prophecy wrong. It's the four of them, not 5. Aidan is an imposter." The room fell silent. Geez, we never seem to catch a break.
