"when you had not touched me yet, take me back to the night we met."

WINIFRED ALDEN WALKED through her small village in norway. winifred didn't mind her life. sure, her family didn't have much, just their shack and barely any food to feed them all but 10 year old winnie didn't worry about that kind of stuff.

winifred's mother, charity, met her father, erik while he was in her land. charity wasn't from norway. she was from poland. erik and his tribe were ransacking her village and he saw charity and spared her. though they met in a strange way, charity did eventually fall in love with erik. together, they had 7 kids. it wasn't uncommon for families to be large back in this time.

the eldest was a boy named amund. amund had his fathers dirty blonde locks but his mothers eyes. amund, being the eldest held the highest expectations. erik wanted his son to be strong and powerful only for him to fall just below that. exceptional.

next was winifred, who was born just 17 months after amund. being the second eldest but a female, her father was deeply disappointed. winnie was the second least favorite child out of 7. no matter what she would do, nothing was good enough for erik. winnie was a spitting image of her mother. she had her long brunette hair and honey eyes. winnie had such a kind and welcoming presence, one that she shared with her mother. her younger sibling would always run to her before their parents.

then there was gunnar. he was a 2 years younger than winnie. gunnar did his best to achieve his father expectations but still, wasn't enough. gunnar had his mothers hair and eyes but his fathers demeanor and coldness in his eyes. gunnar may have looked scary and cold but in reality, he was big teddy bear.

then there was ivar, who was 17 months younger than gunnar. ivar was favorite boy. he was strong, broad and held a heavy front. ivar looked identical to his father. ivar was also the tallest out of the siblings, inheriting everything from their father.

then there was hilda. hilda was the favorite child. though she was a girl, hilda proved her worth by going out to war at just 8 years old. her father beamed with pride at his daughter and looked down on his other two girls.

there was harald who was the least favorite son. harald had his mothers build, his fathers hair and his mothers eyes. erik hated him because he was so lanky and couldn't carry anything.

lastly was little erika. erika was 3 years younger than hilda. she was shy and timid and never stood up for herself, most of the reason she was the least favorite child. erik despised his youngest daughter and was ashamed that he shared the male version of her name. erik was extremely hard on erika but all she did was nod and look down.

winnie wasn't close with all of her siblings but she tried to be. she was closest with erika, harald and gunnar. they would always run to their older sister when their father would beat and scream at them.

"winnie! winnie!" she heard little harald exclaim excitedly from down the dirt road. winnie turned when harald pulled gently on her dress sleeve. the dark haired girls frown quickly turned into a grin upon seeing her brothers bright eyes. "i met a friend!"

"a friend?" winnie questioned with a smile, crouching down to meet his eyes.

harald nodded rapidly. "yes! her name is rebekah!"

"rebekah?" winnie said with big eyes. "well i'll just have to meet this rebekah."

harald nodded again, grabbing his sisters hand. "come on! come on!"

winifred chuckled as she allowed her brother to drag her through the empty dirt village. there were only a handful of shacks. most were from her father and mikael mikaelsons tribe.

"it's mr. mikaelsons daughter!" harald explains upon arriving at the mikaelsons shack. winifred began to grow nervous. she had never met the mikaelsons but has heard horror stories about mikael. she wouldn't show it on her face though.

"o-oh!" winifred excited tone faltered for a moment but harald didn't seem to notice as he led her towards the back of the house. "that's lovely, harald."

"rebekah!" harald exclaimed over to a blonde haired girl. the girl turned, her pale complexion glowing in the sunlight, her grin grew upon seeing the alden boy.

"harald!" rebekah shouted happily, running over to the boy, making her brothers whip their heads around. there were 4 of them, making winnie fiddle nervously with her dress sleeve as harald released his grip on her hand. "brothers, this is the friend i was telling you about!"

winnie approached them nervously behind her brother. harald turned to his sister and gestured to her to rebekah. "this is my oldest sister, winifred. but we call her winnie."

winnie smiled politely as rebekah waved. the 10 year old girl didn't know how to feel about being around the mikaelsons yet. she decided to remain positive and happy for her brother though.

"these are my brothers." rebekah said before pointing at the tallest one. "this is finn," finn's expression remained stoic. "niklaus but i call him nik," niklaus smiled politely. "kol," kol grinned, excited that he had a new friend. "and elijah." elijah waved slowly at both harald and winnie but kept his eyes mainly on the girl.

"hello." the alden siblings said in unison before harald turned to rebekah. "come on rebekah, kol, let's play!"

harald ran off, leaving his sister standing in front of finn, niklaus and elijah. she smiled awkwardly. "hello, im winifred, but you already knew that."

finn rolled his eyes and wandered off somewhere making the other two brothers roll their eyes at his antics.

"don't mind him." elijah said. "he is just in a mood." he stuck his small hand out to winnie. "i'm elijah."

"winifred, but please call me winnie." the long haired girl said, shaking elijah's hand. "and you're niklaus, correct?"

the blonde boy nodded and shied behind elijah, making the older boy chuckle. "yes my little brother is quite shy. i believe he will grow out of that, though."

"oh yes, my baby sister, erika is only 2 and she is unbelievably shy." winnie said with a smile. "my other sister, hilda is quite the opposite. she is only six years old and father is already training her for war."

elijah and niklaus looked at each other with a look of understanding. "we know what that is like. our father is ready to send finn off but our brother refuses."

"do you think you shall be sent away, brother?" niklaus looked up at his older brother.

"i won't leave you, niklaus." elijah said. "besides, now we have a friend."

winnie smiled at the thought. a friend. she had made a friend.
