"What are you kidding me?"
Chapter 21: hearing
Season 5 Episode 21: Allegiance
*Trigger Warning*

Isabella sat on the bar stool behind Jay, who was playing pool, a cigarette between her fingers. Her legs were crossed, her short skirt riding up, revealing more as she wore Jay's jacket draped over her shoulders.

There was a knock on the door, and Kevin walked in with two other guys behind him.

"How we doin'? What's up, Ryan?" Kevin greeted, shaking hands with Jay and nodding at Isabella, who flashed him a flirty smile.

"You're late," Jay said, staring at him.

"I don't know my way around Canaryville like that. You know that, bro," Kevin said, removing the toothpick from his mouth as he looked around the room.

"More like Crackerville," Malik said, glancing at Shabazz, the two who had entered with Kevin.

"Yeah, right," Shabazz said, nodding.

"What did you say?" Nate asked, leaning his back against the door.

"Nah, man, Malik's just playin', bro," Kevin said, hitting Malik on the shoulder. "You're a funny dude."

"Just playin'," Malik said, scoffing.

"Yeah, bro, and that's his brother, Shabazz," Kevin said, introducing them before turning to Jay. "He's the dude I told you about."

"All right, cool. This is Dexter, that's his cousin Nate—and this fine woman here is my girl, Diana," Jay said, introducing the group.

"What's up, gentlemen?"

"All right, so where are the M4s at?" Shabazz asked, looking at the group.

Dexter chuckled as he stood up from his seat, holding the pool cue in his hand. "Why don't we get a drink, you know? Play a little nine-ball. Get to know each other a little better."

"We just came here to do business, not to have a tea party," Shabazz said, eyeing Dexter.

"I like to know who I work with."

"What's this?" Malik scoffed, turning to Kevin. "Yo, what's up, man? You tryin' to play us like a bunch of punks?"

"Watch yourself," Nate said, glaring at him.

"Watch myself?"

Isabella slid off her seat, putting the cigarette in the ashtray, and made her way over to Jay. Since she was unarmed, she grabbed his hand, intertwining their fingers, and used her left hand to hold onto his arm.

"All right, chill, man," Kevin muttered.

"Why don't you make me watch myself?" Malik said, walking over to Nate.
