I Still Remember

The Doctor looks at me shocked.

"Why not this time?" He asks and right then there is a knock at the TARDIS door.

"The way you look at her and you don't even know her." I say and escape the hug that seems to be him clinging to me. I go answer the door and right there is River Song.

"You are still here? Really? Take a hint Sweetie, save yourself from the pain and leave now." She says and walks into the TARDIS.

"You see River, there is only one problem with that." I say and she turns to look at me confused.

"What on earth could that be?" She asks and I smile.

"You proposed it just a bit to late." I say and walk out of the room. What she said made sense but she had made one major wording error. Save myself from the pain. Too late. If I leave I will get it over with faster and on my terms but it seems to run in the family to love this man. Why did I go to that Cafe? Why did I do this to myself? Why.

I feel like I need a shower and then music. I need some me time. I strip down and turn on the shower. I just clean myself and think. Not a single tear shed. I get out and let out a breath. I step out into my room and walk over to my IPod that I grabbed before we left Mum's house. I plug in my headphones and press play. I flip them so that they are speakers, you know that old trick right? Then I put on my undergarments, a tank top, and a pair of sweatpants. I hum along to the song. I don't remember it for before but I haven't used his since I was 15. I turn on my hair drier and flip my hair upside down. I dry my hair and then warm up my flat iron. I open my bedroom door to let some of the steam out. I twist my hair in two sections. I then flat iron the two twists. It gives me an easy beach waves look. I lay on my bed and just listen to the music.

'I heard that you settled down that you've found a girl and your married now. I heard that your dreams came true, guess she gave you things, I didn't give to you. Old friend why are you so shy. Ain't like you to hold back, or hide from the light.' I sing along and then the Doctor knocks on my doorframe. I look up and wave him in.

"What's up Doc?" I say right as Check Yes Juliet by We Are Kings starts playing.

"You know that I love you right?" He says in a desperate tone.

"Yes I do."

"So you understand that I wouldn't abandon you on the side of a street right?"

"Yes I understand that. Doctor why do you ask?" I say in an almost frantic tone.

"River said-"

"River was wrong." I say and walk over to give him a hug. "I understand that we aren't going to last forever, but I also understand how lucky I am. So, I am going to savor every second of it. Understood?"

"Understood." He says and rests his chin on the top of my head. Right then You and Me by Lifehouse starts to play. I drag him into my room and make him dance with me. He picks up on it and wraps his arms around my waist. I wrap my arms around his neck and rest my head on his chest. This reminds me of stories Mum used to tell. Of her and her Doctor, and of how they were perfect no matter what the odds said. Her undying loyalty toward him. But that loyalty died when I met him. He was being referred to as the Doctor instead of My Doctor. Things changed when she knew someone new walked into his life. Then she distanced herself. She changed the situation so she wouldn't be hurt. As I see River around more and more I understand why. It is so hard but I'm not going to give up like my mother did. Like he said, History Can Change.
