Chou Tzuyu was nervous.
She was in the back of a taxi that was headed to the destination where her date was set. As she got deeper into the city, She anxiously watched each street light pass by the window of the car.
She glanced down at her phone on her lap. It's black screen was enough to show her reflection.
Tzuyu glided, swiped and ran her hand through her hair, thinking of which style was more suitable for her despite her two closest friend's saying she looked good regardless of the style.
Not only was she nervous about going to a high class restaurant but truth be told that she was headed to her first ever date.
Who wouldn't be nervous?
Tzuyu used her phone like a mirror. She looked at the make-up she had prepared herself as anxious as how she looked at her hair.
She worried if her lipstick was too light, maybe even too dark, if her foundation was too much, and she even thought of redoing everything despite already being in the taxi.
Her mind drifted past thoughts of uncertainty and fear about going to her first ever date.
In all of her years studying in school and her years in college, she has never been asked into a date. Not once has someone come up to her personally or through other means and asked her to go out with them.
She did not mind this as she knew that her silent and introverted nature made it difficult to connect with others. Not to mention that she wanted the be approached, not the other way around.
Now, she was on her way on a date and a real one at that. From what she knew, dates were supposed to be romantic and it was a chance for personal time for partners.
She wasn't one for romance but this was an exemption. Despite being called a dinner date, it was merely two coworkers hanging out, at least in her words.
Due to her inexperience with dates, she didn't know how to act. She wasn't sure if more casual in terms of her mannerisms and the way she spoke or should she be more formal or if it really mattered at all.
She missed the chance to ask her two friends so now she was guided by none other than herself. She sighed with uncertainty all over. Thinking that she was going with her supervisor, will this affect her intern report?
Tzuyu shook her head before reaching into the white purse that was slung over shoulder. Her hand scrambled through the different contents of the bag, searching through for a specific one.
Her hand eventually pulled out a small red lipstick from her purse. Twisting then taking the cap off, she carefully pressed it upon her lips, ready to give them a darker hue.
*THUD!*
The taxi suddenly jumped into the air slightly as if it speedily went over a speed bump. The sudden motion made Tzuyu jolt her hand over her lips and into her cheeks.
"Sorry about that ma'am!" The driver shouted.
Tzuyu stayed silent and didn't respond. Her attention was solely focused on the new mess that had happened accidentally. As she jolted, she moved the lipstick over her cheeks and grazed it.
The lipstick created a thick red line, completely ruining the make-up she prepared.
The girl panicked on her seat. She grabbed her purse and opened it fully. She pushed back whatever she had put inside prior and found something that could just might help her, a small pack of tissues.
She grabbed some pieces of the clean white paper and quickly dabbed it over the red line. Seeing from her reflection that it wasn't disappearing, she wiped it entirely off her cheek.
