I wanted to share a story that's been in my drafts for a while. This is my first attempt at writing a werewolf AU, so please bear with any mistakes. I hope you enjoy it!

The storyline and concept are entirely fictional and have no connection to real life. Please take it as a work of fiction.

Initially, I planned to make this into a full-length book, but I decided to turn it into a short story instead.

Without further ado, let's get started.

In this story, there's a fated mate concept, but those who don't find their mates by a certain age are considered mateless.

True-blood alphas must find their mate by the age of 23, alphas by 21, betas and gammas by 20, and omegas by 19.

They can only sense or search for their mates after turning 18.

After this age, they're deemed mateless, and arranged marriages become common for them, termed "arranged mating."

* Male omegas possess both male and female reproductive parts, menstruating like female omegas every month.

* Offspring of male omegas are believed to be stronger than those of female omegas, making them highly coveted mates among werewolves.

* The heat and rut cycle differs: omegas experience it once every three months, while alphas undergo it twice a year.

The duration of the cycle varies for each wolf, as not everyone are the same.

* True-blood alphas are notably possessive and dangerous if their mate is threatened, earning a reputation for their ruthless nature.

* In my story, finding a true-blood alpha is relatively common, but discovering a pure omega is a rarity.

Within the werewolf community, true-blood alphas are sought after and respected, their lineage easily traceable.

* However, the search for a pure omega poses a greater challenge, as their lineage and status are often less clear.

Despite the ease of identifying true-blood alphas, the value placed on a pure omega is equally significant, if not more so, due to their scarcity.

Pack:

Love blossoms within a werewolf pack, where each member is like family under the leadership of a head alpha, akin to a king.

The head alpha's family resides in the pack house, while other members live in nearby homes, not far from the pack house.

Set in modern times, the story features modern conveniences like phones, cars, and other contemporary elements.

Shift:

When werewolves shift, they remain in their clothes afterward.

A werewolf can heal their partner or mate by licking their wounds in wolf form.

Pregnancy:

Omegas can get pregnant regardless of whether they are male or female.

All female wolves, whether they are alpha, gamma, beta, or omega, can also get pregnant.

Their pregnancy period is the same as that of humans: nine months.

Possesiveness:

Possessiveness varies with rank, but true-blood alphas are significantly more possessive and protective of their mates than any other rank.

At the same time, their affection and love for their mate are unparalleled.

Protectiveness in Omegas:

Protectiveness for their mate is common among all ranks, but there is something unique about omegas.

When an omega delivers a pup, they do not allow anyone other than another omega near them, even if the person is their mate.

They consider everyone a threat until they have scented their pup for the first time.

This scenting process is a critical bonding ritual for omegas and their pups.

Like a protective mother, an omega will not let anyone enter the space where this initial scenting takes place.

This ensures a strong bond between the omega and their pup.
