Claire:
It was a dark and stormy night, and I was in the kitchen making a treat for the rest of my friends. They were all talking in the living room. It had been about 2 years since Jim left with the new amulet and time stone. Everyone who had died was back. He had done it. He had saved all of us. Arcadia was rebuilt, and everyone was living just as they did before. He promised it wasn't good-bye, but his promise started to slip from my mind. That's when it happened. A green vortex looking thing appeared right in front of the living room, in front of everyone. A single gasp erupted from my mouth. For a bit, the vortex just sat there, and we were ready. Douxie got out his magic, I had my shadow magic out, Strickler had his dagger. Blinky held out his book. Then he fell out. A boy. He fell on his knees and hands and started panting. He looked familiar, but I didn't put my magic out just yet. He was wearing a blue vest, white sneakers, and had short, scruffly, dark brown hair.
"Who are you?" I asked.
He lifted his head, and we all gasped.
Douxie lowered his hands.
Strickler dropped his dagger.
I extinguished my magic.
Blinky opened his book, his eyes still wide, and put it on his face, and fainted onto the couch.
Standing before us, was a slim, young boy with blue eyes, and a scar on his cheek.
"Jim?"
Jim:
Time traveling was exhausting. I was exhausted. From the moment I fell out of that time portal, I was on my hands and knees, gasping for just a breath of fresh air. I heard Claire's voice.
"Who are you?"
Her voice was stern, with a hint of fright in it, just as I remembered. I lifted my head to see her. She looked just as I remembered her, only she kept her hair in a ponytail now. Her hair was longer, and whiter. Strickler and Mom looked a bit older, as they had some white and gray hairs.
Douxie and Archie looked just about the same, except Douxie's hair grew some more indigo streaks.
They gasped when they saw me, though. I understood why.
They all put down their weapons and took a good, long look at me.
"Jim?" Claire finally broke the silence. Her eyes were full of concern.
I got to my feet and dusted myself off.
"Hello."
The room suddenly erupted with sounds of running, as they made their way to squeeze me to death, and the sound of people clamoring over each other to ask questions and say how much they missed me. Everyone but Claire. She just stood there, her eyes wide. Her delicate smile, gone. When everyone finally let go, I walked up to Claire. She just stared at me.
"Hey." I said quietly, hoping she would respond.
There was a brief silence, but then she flicked her fingers on my forehead.
"Ow! What was that for?" I rubbed my head.
"That was not coming back for even 5 minute visits..."
She flicked me again at the head.
"And that was for leaving for so long."
"Claire, I-"
"Oh, be quiet, you idiot!"
She suddenly pounced onto me, and wrapped me into a tight hug.
"I missed you."
My shoulder felt wet. She was crying. I realized I was crying, too. I hugged her back.
"Are you ok?" She came back in front of me and put her hand on my cheek, right where my scar was.
"Yeah." I put my hand on top of hers.
I appreciated her concern. But to be honest, I was scared. No, not from her flicking, or her magic, or being the natural girl boss she was. I was scared to tell her. Tell her I would have to go back, otherwise the whole world would fall apart again. Not a good look for me, you know. I just come back to my entire family after 2 whole years, and in 5 minutes I have to go back again. I had to tell her, I just didn't know how to break it to her.
"Listen, Claire, I-"
"Yes?"
"I... I have to go back."
He smile faded.
"What?"
"I have to go back in time."
"What? What?? Why are you telling me this? Wha- So you're just going to leave all over again??"
"Claire, It's not that easy, you need to understand my perspective too!"
"It's not just about me, Jim!" She was raging. "What about them? How do you think they feel?"
Claire pointed and everyone else with a hand lit on purple fire.
"Claire, Listen to me!"
I grabbed her non-fiery hand.
"No! I'm done listening! Are you really telling me you came just to go back again? And now your going for another 2 years!
She snatched her hand away.
"Claire, stop! Do you really think I want to go?"
"You know what? Just leave! Just get out of here, don't you ever dare come back!"
I felt heartbroken. She just yelled at me, so hard. She didn't want me anymore, so I just went. A few people pleaded me to stay, like Toby and Mom, but I just kept walking, and when I was about to go through the portal, I didn't even look back. But this was my new home, and I had to adapt. It was just Chompsky that actually came with me. Otherwise, I was completely on my own.
