Jim:
When Dad finally walked out, I breathed a sigh of relief.
"Claire, you can come out now."
I didn't hear anything.
"Claire?"
Nothing. Then I heard something. Something kinda muffled. Breathing? No, wait. Sobbing. Crying. Yes, that's it. And it was coming from... the ceiling?!
I looked up. There was a small shadow portal on the ceiling, so small, that it could only fit a head.
"Claire? Are you OK?"
The portal disappeared, and a much bigger one appeared right next to me, and out came a red eyed Claire.
"Claire? What's wrong?" I tried holding her hands but she pulled away.
"Is that really what you think of her?" Claire finally spoke. My eyes widened.
I had a guilty look on my face. She shook her head in disbelief.
"I can't believe you. You wanted to kill her? Not because she was a human?"
"Claire, I-"
"Stop it! Just-Just stop it! Is that what you think, about that poor girl? That she was dumb? That she was helpless? She was someone I knew, someone I knew really well! How could you?!"
Claire hopped out the window angrily, and I couldn't help but think "Why does she seem so familiar??"
Claire:
I ran.
I didn't think.
I didn't even breathe.
I just kept going.
I just kept running.
Hot tears flew out of my eyes as I ran furiously, never looking back.
His words were like a stab in my heart.
I wasn't even sure if Jim was still there. If my Jim was still there.
My thought was interrupted by a huge crackle of lightning, and lots of little pattering sounds of rain.
I stopped running. I wiped away my tears.
I breathed in, and out, letting the little rain drops fall on me, and my face, and arms, and my body.
I didn't move.
I stayed there like that for a little bit.
Then something was there.
I saw something, like a, a goblin?
It grinned evilly as I tried to walk away slowly. Then it jumped on me.
Everything went dark.
