Jim:

I had finished slaying the girl. Though she felt oddly familiar. Like I knew her.

Her last words: "Jim, this isn't you!" They kept replaying in my head.

Who the hell was Jim?

My name was Atlas

But I shook the feeling off and walked back home. My dad, Vendel was standing in front of the entrance.

"Son, what happened? I heard screaming."

I put my sword to be polished.

"Eh, just some stupid girl in the forest. Killed her."

"Son.... That shouldn't have been done. We didn't do that to you, when we found you. We took you in and raised you like our own. Don't do that again."

I rolled my eyes. "Fine. It wasn't that big of a deal though."

"You'll understand when you're older."

Claire:

I woke up in a bed with Douxie next to me.

"Claire? Are you ok?"

I felt bandages on my body. They hurt like crazy. They were covered in blood. What happened?

"Did I die?" I asked.

Douxie put his hand on his neck.

"Actually, you did."

My eyes widened.

"Tobes found you in the forest. You were dying. Thankfully, I was able to concoct a spell to save you from your injuries."

"It was Jim." I  quietly said.

"What?"

"It was Jim! I swear! But it wasn't him. His eyes were green. Like he was brainwashed, or like being controlled."

His eyes widened. "You said his eyes were green?"

"Yes."

"Hoo boy. That means his memory was erased by someone, and that someone is his master. But it's not hopeless. We can either destroy the master, or we can jog his memory."

"I have just the thing." I took out my compact. "Jim gave this to me for my birthday. In Trollmarket, there are no mirrors. He doesn't know what he looks like."

"That's exactly what we need, but are you sure you want to risk yourself again?"

"Hey, this is Jim we're talking about. And I can disguise myself. I'll where my hair down and armor."

He put his hand on my shoulder.

"Good luck."
