A BLADE PROTRUDED FROM SATORU'S chest, now covered in his blood. "s-satoru.." you stuttered, fearful. satoru turned to his attacker, a bead of sweat rolling down his face. his attacker had a muscular build and black hair. he also had a notable scar on his lip.

"d-do i know you from somewhere..?" the white-haired male asked, a pained smile on his face. the man hummed as he looked at satoru. "i'm not one to remember names either" he spoke, grinning. suguru quickly summoned a cursed worm, which attacked the man. "satoru-!" "relax!" satoru held his hand up, stopping you from coming any closer. "he didn't hit anything vital. you guys just worry about getting riko to tengen" he told you.

suguru's worm suddenly exploded, its purple guts falling onto the ground. it then revealed the man. this time, he had a weird worm thing wrapped around his body. "go!" satoru shouted. the four of you ran off, heading towards tengen.

"this is as far as i can go! i wish you the best, riko" kuroi spoke, waving to her. riko looked down for a moment before running over to kuroi and embracing her. you smiled at the interaction. afterwards, the three of you continued on your way.

you looked down at the ground as you walked. "you okay?" suguru asked. "i'm fine, just..thinking about satoru and that guy.." you replied, worry clearly written on your face. "yeah, i am too. but don't worry, i know he'll be fine. he is satoru gojo, after all" your boyfriend reassured, pecking your cheek.

eventually, you all reached tengen. riko stared out, a solemn expression on her face. "here we are. just head down and tengen will take care of you from there" suguru explained. after not hearing a word from either of you, he sighed. "..or you could come back with us."

this caused riko to perk up. "you're young. you still have so many people to meet and so many things to do. if you don't want to assimilate.." suguru held out his hand to her. "we can head back and deal with the consequences later." a small smile played on your lips as you looked at the two of them. tears welled up in riko's eyes. a smile on her face showed as she reached out her hand. "okay..!"

BANG!

riko fell to the ground, blood pooling under her head. you and suguru's eyes widened. "riko...?" you say, your voice barely audible. "there. all done. you can go now." the guy from earlier emerged from the darkness, gun in hand. "how did you get here..?" "where's satoru??" suguru and you asked. "hm? ah, right. satoru gojo got in my way, so i had to kill him" he explained, an evil grin on his face.

you covered your mouth as tears began to roll down your cheeks. he had to be kidding..no, his expression wouldn't look like that if it was a joke. you couldn't even sense any cursed energy from this man..how could he have killed satoru?!

"y/n. you're going to head back to the school. i'll deal with this. no offense, but since your technique is more on the defensive side, you wouldn't be much help" suguru told you. "no, i'm not leaving you alone! we did that with satoru and look at what happened..!" you protested.

"i wasn't asking." you were suddenly encased in suguru's ball curse, rolling out of there. "NO!" you shouted, kicking at it. the curse finally freed you, placing you in front of the school. you stood there, perplexed and conflicted. if you went back, wouldn't suguru just send you back here? it would be useless.

you wiped the tears from your eyes as emotions began to flood in. "dammit, dammit, DAMMIT!" you exclaimed. first, satoru had died. next, riko and kuroi. your boyfriend would surely die next. you slowly broke down, not sure of what to do. shoko eventually found you and took you into the school.

"what happened, y/n? i thought you were on that mission with suguru and satoru" shoko spoke as she held her cigarette between her fingers. "..suguru and i are the only ones left. satoru, the star plasma vessel, and her maid were killed by that damned bastard..!" you gripped onto your uniform. "suguru's next, i know he is..! i don't know who that man is, but he's merciless.."

shoko was surprised. had satoru truly died? "okay, first off..let's relax a bit, mkay? take a few breaths. you're understandably emotional right now, but please.." she told you. you followed her instructions, only feeling slightly calmer now. "now, have some faith in suguru and satoru. they're both strong, probably the strongest. they don't go down easily" she explained.

"yeah..they'll be fine..very fine..they'll come back in one piece and we'll continue being sorcerers together.." you told yourself as you calmed down even more. "great, you're doing great right now, y/n. all we have to do is wait for them to get back." you nodded, leaning against your hand. after a brief moment of silence, shoko spoke.

"want one?" she waved her cig around. "shoko..i don't smoke. plus, doesn't it rot your bones or something?" "nah, but it does take the edge off when things get rough" shoko replied.

you had to admit, you've always been curious as to what smoking would be. plus, you only live once, right? you sighed. "yeah, sure, i'll take one.." "cool. you can finish this one." shoko handed you her already lit cigarette. you stared at it for a moment before placing it onto your lips. you inhaled, the sudden intake of smoke causing you to cough vigorously. "how do you enjoy this??" you questioned. "no idea, i kinda just..do, ya know?" she spoke.

you tried again, inhaling slower this time. you blew out the smoke. "yeah, there you go! oh yeah, don't tell suguru or satoru that we smoked together, they'll get pissy" shoko advised, earning a nod from you. "this'll be my last cigarette anyways, so i'm sure it won't be a big deal even if they did find out." the two of you laughed together as you continued smoking.
