Ding
The elevator door opens, and they're met with an identical view of what they had of the floor they came in on, not that Danny was really paying attention to that as he tries to see if his own eyes are glowing, a feat rather difficult when you can't really look at them yourself, but one he's had to detect in the past.
Holding up a hand to his face shows a reflection of green back at him.
Taking a couple of deep breaths and squeezing his eyes closed tight and opening them again makes it disappear.
Ok. Weird. Weird but manageable.
"This the right floor?" Jon's looking at a building map on the wall, it's pretty worn but Danny can make out a little off-color dot marking their location at the service elevator.
"Yeah, no. The rich people floors get their own elevator with higher access, and a different service elevator too. We'll need to get through this whole floor to get over here-" Jon traces a path through the map to a dark area on the other side of the building.
Faintly, an outline of another room, similar to the one they were in now, sits next to a label for executive elevator.
"We'll be going through a few of the big offices on this floor, it shouldn't be too crowded to be honest, most of the upper floors clear out most of the way during spring break for like, family time and whatever." Jon says with a wave of his hand.
"I usually avoid family vacations where I can-" Damnit Fenton! Don't offer up details about yourself, you're supposed to be an alien from freaking Mars!
"What, do vacations mean something else for Martians?" Jon asks, inputting the code again to the door, Danny has very limited idea of what Martians even do other than the fact that they have a local one called Martian Manhunt-
Oh!
"Oh uh, yeah my parents would take me and my sister on hunting trips all the time!" Jon looks back with a little surprise on his face.
"Should I be concerned about what it is you're hunting?"
"Definitely not people if that's what you're worried about!" Nailed it.
"Alright..." Jon says, poking his head out the door and gesturing for Danny to follow after a moment. Before heading out though, Jon pulls up his hood on his jacket, it's deep enough to provide some covering for his face, and Danny takes it as a queue to do so as well, pulling the flimsy plastic over his hair. They exit out slightly more disguised for the sake of what Danny assumes is cameras.
Maybe he should tell Jon about the thing with him and videos? Nah.
The two exit out, it's a step up from the lower floors alright.
Danny wonders if maybe rich executives just really have a thing for glass and mirrors and if that's supposed to be some kind of metaphor, mostly because as they fast-walk through the office there's a lot of both.
Most of the floor is pretty open, various meeting rooms are sprawled around the place, separated by glass walls tinted so they weren't so see-through.
Still, even with being fairly exposed, Jon's right about the office being pretty quiet, Danny spots a few people scattered around, even someone with long red hair covering most of their face can be seen passed out on their desk.
Both in silent agreement to not talk to each other as to not draw attention to themselves, Jon and Danny swiftly make their way between offices and cubicles, Jon finally nudging him to point out where the elevator for the executive suites are, gold plankared and all labeling the thing.
