Ryu Sunjae balanced the tray of steaming hot food in his hands as he walked down the staircase of their new apartment building. His mother's words echoed in his mind: "Always show gratitude, Sunjae. Mrs. Im has done us a lot of favour by lowering the apartment rent for us, it's the least we can do."
With a soft knock, Sunjae reached Mrs. Im's door and waited. When the door swung open, it wasn't Mrs. Im who greeted him, but her daughter, Im Sol. Sunjae's heart skipped a beat as he watched Im Sol swing open the door. Butterflies fluttered in his stomach, a sensation he couldn't ignore.
"Um, hi," Sunjae stammered, mustering up the courage to speak. "We're the new tenants, and my mom prepared this food for your family." Sol's response was curt and dismissive. Without so much as a glance in Sunjae's direction, she took the tray of food from his hands and shut the door with a resounding thud, leaving Sunjae standing there, bewildered and slightly hurt by the abruptness of her actions.
"She didn't even look at me," he thought.

Standing in front of the mirror, Sol was getting more and more excited with each passing second. She couldn't believe that she'd be seeing her beloved bias in a couple of hours. Sol has been saving money for this exact moment & now she is all ready to live this moment.
"Tickets" checked.
"Lightstick" checked.
"ID" checked.
"Binoculars" checked.
"extra batteries" checked.
"Ah, where is that dumboo? why isn't he here yet?", Sol looked at her watch waiting for brother as he is supposed to drop her to the concert venue. 20 minutes have passed yet no sign. Sol was growing impatient. She has called her brother 17 times but the call is always ending up in voicemail.
As the sound of the apartment door opening echoed through the house, Imsol's frustration finally came down. Finally, her brother appeared, his expression apologetic as he explained the reason for his tardiness. "I had a role, and the shooting got delayed," he offered, his voice tinged with regret. Imsol's temper flared, her disappointment boiling over into anger. "Your failed acting career is not my problem," she spat, her words sharp with resentment. Geum just let her little sister bicker at him as he helped her to sit in the car.
Sol's heart raced as she stepped into the buzzing atmosphere of the concert venue. She couldn't help but smile at the sight of fans milling, the shops, the excitement, this was the moment she has always wished for.
Among the crowd, Sol spotted her best friend, Hyun Joo. The familiar face gave a sense of comfort in the bustling sea of people. With a burst of joy, Sol hurried over, weaving through the crowd until she reached her friend's side. Their eyes met, and without a word, they shared a grin that spoke volumes. As Sol and Hyunjoo bounded towards the entrance, their matching headbands marked their allegiance to their favorite performers—Inhyuk and Sunjae. "I can't believe we're finally here!" Sol exclaimed, her voice brimming with excitement. Hyunjoo squeezed her hand, their excitement echoing in sync. "I know, right? It's going to be amazing!"
Sol's heart sank as the security guard delivered the crushing news that her ticket was fake. Disbelief and disappointment washed over her as she realized she wouldn't be able to join Hyunjoo inside the concert venue. With a heavy heart, Sol mustered a weak smile for her friend. "Go ahead, Hyunjoo. Don't let this ruin your night. I'll figure something out and catch up with you later." Hyunjoo hesitated, concern etching her features. "Are you sure, Sol? I don't want to leave you alone."Sol shook her head, mustering up a brave facade. "I'll be fine, really. I don't want you to miss out because of me. Go enjoy the concert, and I'll see you soon. "Reluctantly, Hyunjoo nodded, giving Sol a reassuring hug before disappearing into the crowd of concert-goers.
As the concert commenced inside the venue, Sol found herself stationed outside, the distant echoes of music drifting towards her. With a heavy heart, she clutched her lightstick. Tears welled in Sol's eyes as she realized she wouldn't be sharing this moment with Hyunjoo inside the venue. Yet, amidst the sadness, a wave of gratitude washed over her. Despite the setback, she was still able to experience the magic of the music, even if from afar. As Sunjae's solo song echoed through the night, Sol closed her eyes, letting the melody wash over her. The heartfelt lyrics resonated deep within her, touching her soul in ways she couldn't describe. Despite the distance, she felt connected to the performance, the music serving as a bridge between her and her favorite artist.
In that moment, Sol realised that even in the midst of disappointment, there was still beauty to be found.
As the concert ended, Sol rushed to the parking area. After a while, Hyunjoo came. Hyunjoo smiled at Sol and helped her get in the car. Sol couldn't help but feel a rush of excitement mingled with a hint of sadness. She eagerly hopped into the passenger seat, ready to hear all about the concert she had missed. Hyunjoo showed Sol videos she had captured on her phone, the vibrant energy of the performances leaping off the screen. Sol couldn't help but smile at the sight, grateful for her friend's thoughtfulness in recording the videos for her.
As they arrived at Sol's house, Hyunjoo could sense Sol's lingering disappointment. With a gentle smile, she reached out and placed a comforting hand on her friend's shoulder. "Sol, don't worry," Hyunjoo reassured her. "Next time, we'll make sure you get into the concert and see Sunjae. I promise." Sol's spirits lifted at her friend's words, a glimmer of hope shining in her eyes. "Thank you, Hyunjoo. I really hope so." With a renewed sense of optimism, Sol bid Hyunjoo goodbye.
After bidding Hyunjoo farewell, Sol entered her apartment feeling a sense of restlessness settling over her. She thought she got over it, but she didn't. The feeling of disappointed didn't left her. With a sigh, Sol decided she needed a change of scenery. She grabbed her keys and headed out for a walk, hoping the fresh air would clear her mind. As she strolled through the neighborhood, the cool evening breeze offered a welcome reprieve from the stuffiness of her apartment. Yet, despite the tranquility of the night, a sense of unease lingered within her. It was then that she noticed the figure lurking in the shadows, their tall silhouette casting an ominous presence against the dimly lit street.
"Hey, who are you?" Sol's voice trembled slightly as she confronted the mysterious figure, her hand reaching for her phone. The figure raised their hands in a gesture of surrender, their features obscured by a face mask. "Whoa, calm down," they said, their voice soothing yet unfamiliar. "I'm not a creep or anything".
"Okay, but you shouldn't be lurking around like that," Sol replied, her tone cautious yet firm.
The figure nodded in understanding and reached up to remove their face mask, revealing their face. Sol's eyes widened in disbelief as she realized who stood before her.
"Sunjae?" she gasped, her shock evident in her voice.
Sunjae's POV :
I smiled as she stood before me, her expression a mix of shock and excitement. All these years had passed, yet her beauty remained as captivating as ever, if not more so. It seemed she hadn't recognized me, not as the boy who once lived upstairs.
"I'm a big fan," she exclaimed, her voice filled with awe. I nodded, a knowing glint in my eyes. "I know." Her eyebrows furrowed in confusion. "How do you know?" she asked, genuine curiosity shining in her eyes. I gestured towards her phone, noticing the transparent cover adorned with a photocard—my photocard. A chuckle escaped my lips as realization dawned on her face, her eyes widening in astonishment.
