20. When?*

And when does the memories fade?

When I force it?

Though that is in vain

Cause then I'd remember it more

When someone replaces it?

Though in the back of my mind,

I'll always have a lingering trace of you

When I finally see you again?

Though that'd force me to re-live everything

Where once you and I were in love

When I finally die?

Then who will remember us by what we were

If not me or not my haunting soul

Which lingers around the corner street

Where you kissed me each morning

When we met

And every evening

When we parted ways

When I finally let it go?

When I finally let us go?

When I finally let go of the memories?

When I finally let it go;

Of what we were, and could've been?

Of the nights we spent on your bed,

Of the mornings when we bought the cheap coffee you love,

Of the afternoons spent under the tree at the park,

Of the evenings, where I station myself on our counter

while you recall the events of the day,

Of the light afternoons where we spent on the couch,

too lazy to get up,

Of the nights where we came undone by each other,

Of the days when we stayed to talk about everything under the sun that had a name,

Of the evenings when the children ran merrily

while we strolled down the stone pathway,

When I finally let you go?

will the memories fade?

or will they stay around enough

to haunt me for the rest of my days?

okay so i listened to the new T.S album, "The Tortured Poets Department"

and oh boy i cried listening to So Long, London

idk it hit me too deep when i least expected to

so in honour of TTPD's So Long, London

i tried something though it would never reach as high as T.S

and also included the star in the title as to a fair validation for the poem contest
