I was baffled by your call at 3 in the morning;
the sun was pretty much still asleep
the moon is getting ready to go lay its head down
and I am here
laying wide awake
with you on the other side of the phone
thinking what scares me the most
"the word "almost" and the haunting story it holds"
you chuckled at my answer,
"why?"
"He almost fell in love with me"
"We were almost something"
"He almost reached her before she died"
"almost"
so close yet so far,
almost...
