Long Poem
A precious piece of memory embedded in a small tin
Lays still in my mother's cupboard,
I question its existencewith stars in her eyes, she spoke,
"I was about ten or twelve
When my father bought me this tin for a keepsake for memories"
My father carries around the same watch,
Time ticking too fast, too slow sometimes
I ponder over how it came to be his
When I got an answer,
"My father gave me his watch
When I got my first job check"
The twin consoles lie abandoned yet cared for
On my brother's shelf
, I once asked my brother,
"Why bother keeping it when it doesn't run?"
I wasn't prepared for his answer,
"It was the first pair of consoles I ever played with you"
The question got back to me,
"What is it that you treasure the most?"
A question I hated with my utmost existence
I never had an answer to it
, I stood silent in front of it,
Not this time,
Without much thinking, I answered,
"I must say, No tins or watches or consoles
have ever matched for what
The single red rose holds
, Hidden deep in my book;
It lies still in in the crooks
An evident piece of memory,
Of us
Of what we have been,
Of what we could have been,
Of what we shouldn't have been
But we decided against it
It lies still in the corner of my heart,
Tugged away for nights
When I lay in bed
, And I want to ponder over us
Of what we have been
Of what we could have been
Of what we shouldn't have been
But we decided against it
It lies still in the corner of my heart
Awaiting the day,
It comes to life Howlering what it stood for
Of us
Of what we have been
Of what we could have been
Of what we shouldn't have been
But we decided against it
It lies still in the corner of my heart
For till another life,
It has to wait
For you...Lay six feet under the ground
Leaving me astray...
fun fact: I found this buried in my notes app-
oops-
anyways
enjoyyyyyyyy
