There was flame and screams everywhere, dead bodies of people lying mercilessly. Cries of widows, widowers and orphans spread throughout the Kingdom of Gureyo.

People were running here and there, either to save their lives or to find their loved ones. Some were grievously hurt, some were shivering at a corner seeing the deadly bloodshed.

Blood, fire, dead bodies and a lot of excruciating things were visible to every extent a person could see.

War means violence. War means deaths. War means cries. War means loss, of loved ones, of property, of peace and livelihood.

Everything that a person spends his whole life to make from his blood and sweat gets destroyed within seconds. Every person who loves someone is living in fear of losing them.

There is just terror, melancholy, grief and mourning.

Everyone was losing something each second.

Just like how one lover was losing his soulmate, his love, his everything in his arms.

His hands were covered with the blood of the person on whose body he couldn't even bear to see one scar.

The body of the person he worships like a devotee slowly started falling on the ground. He immediately held him in his arms and sat down on the ground.

His lover's face which he always admired still looked so beautiful, even with all the scars and crimson, he looked the most ethereal being on this planet.

His beloved looked at him tenderly, a small smile playing on his lips. He loved his lover's cheerful, boxy smile that always fills his heart with warmth and happiness but this time the smile was stabbing his heart, filling it with so much pain, guilt and remorse.

The person he vowed to cherish and protect was now lying limp in his arms.

"My love... d-don't cry" his soulmate in his arms said, but it came out merely as an airy breath. He reached a trembling hand towards his tear-streaked face, wiping his tears. "Don't w-worry about me. I am c-content that you are the l-last person I see..." his voice unclear and rushed. "and I am g-glad that I got to tell you this before d-dying... thank you for everything. I love you so much... I have o-only loved you and would only love you in e-every life, in every u-universe and in every..." he was barely managing to keep his eyes open, his soul slowly abandoning his body. He said the last word, a ragged echo that resonated within every dust and stardust. "... in every reincarnation" his eyes finally closed and his hand, once warm and strong fell on the ground with a thud.

The man's agonising scream followed immediately. "Yoonsung!" he cried loudly, his whimpers shaking every heartstring. He lost his lover, his soulmate, his life. So, what's the need to stay alive now? He would rather die with him than live life without him.

"I am coming to you, my love" he mumbled, his voice barely a whisper against the crackling flames. Slowly, the flames- both beautiful and terrifying, consumed them both. As the flames danced their final flickering song, he held onto one desperate plea- to find his beloved again in another life, to build their family, cherish each other again, and have their happy ending.

The heavens heard his desperate pleas and heartful cries; their love's strength and purity compelled even the almighty to bow before their passion and devotion. Nature itself seemed to mourn their loss, the sky weeping with a sudden downpour as their love story reached its tragic end.

The deities couldn't bear the loss of their fated ones, unwilling to accept the brutal demise of soulmates, they granted them a blessing, fulfilling his prayer. On threads of destiny, knitted by fortune and blessed by the cosmos, their love story will be written again by the stars. Their paths will cross once again and their romance will ignite again.
