Windsor Valley School was back in session, with fresh pandemonium bursting around its walls as the new flowers emerged. There was a lot of chaos as the teachers moved around getting everything ready for the start of senior year.

Aliara made her way to the second level, walking by everyone who was now wearing red ties, which stood for seniority. She came to a stop at what is known as "The Lobby of Seniors," the lobby's entrance.

It was difficult to accept that time had flown by so quickly; it seemed she had only recently begun first grade. She inhaled deeply before entering the foyer, although that was being overly dramatic. Her train of thinking was cut short as her phone vibrated. With a sigh, she took up,

"Will you be absent on the first day of our final school year?" The low-pitched voice belonged to her close friend Uma Linh, a girl who is half Brazilian and half Vietnamese whom she met at the beginning of grade 11.

Aliara declared, "I am almost there," as she put her hair up in a ponytail and headed to her Grade 12 class 1, Crestwood Pioneers. It was kind of a school custom for their classes to have strange titles like this.

As she entered her class, she ran into a hardcover and heard the words, "Watch where you go-." Aliara snorted before the other person could finish speaking. She walked to her row to get cheery grins from her gang of sunshine.

"Wow you just bumped into the Great Ivan Sokolov, what was he even doing in our class?" Belle, the mother of their group and a very pious girl, asked Aliara the first thing she heard as she turned to face the individual who had only moments before run into her.

Aliara shot Belle a bewildered glance and asked, "What do you mean 'Great'? She continued, "And to top it off, he was pretty rude, so I just walked past him" as she finished organizing her belongings.

"I'm also perplexed, so I have no idea. Isn't he in Crest Legends, class 3?" Uma asked, her eyes widening at the unexpected realization, "Hey, I heard that he might represent the head of the council from the boy's side this year."

"And how are you aware of that?" Guliana wakes up from a sound slumber and asks Uma, yawning profusely. "Oh, me? Hehe, you know the school "newspaper" is active," Uma shot back, ever the cheeky one, and they all shrugged, knowing well who she was talking about. Uma saw their reactions and sneered, saying, "I am always ahead you know." Aliara laughed at Uma's naivety.

"Alright, let me clarify! Aliara, aren't you also representing our side as the head of the council?!" Belle enquired, sounding a little excited. "Yes, I am, do you think I have any other choice when I was forced by someone to go for it?" Aliara asked, nodding, and with a teasing glare, she questioned Uma, who responded with a nervous smile before grasping her hand.

"Oh please, come on! You should be the head of the girls' side and Mariana and I will make sure you win the voting this year because you are one of the best debaters and fiercely competitive. You also did a lot last year to support the seniors in the student council" Uma expressed her confidence in Aliara in this.

Guliana sneered as Aliara laughed at Uma's response. Belle nodded in agreement as she spoke, "Trust me, I am confident in you too. The seniors last year loved you more than anyone, and they might have already mentioned you to the teachers."

"Don't worry you can do it and you will do it!" Aliara hastily apologized to the three females when they suddenly shouted together, drawing attention from the entire class, while the other three continued laughing at her embarrassment.

Aliara felt at home with these three girls; they had first connected in the eleventh grade when they had chosen to enroll in different courses from their former classmates and pals, thus none of them had recognized anyone.

She had entered the council election to run for the head of the council for this reason in the past. She never wanted to disappoint anyone who had faith in her, so she hoped that everything would work out, but she had no idea what the next several weeks might hold......
