As Aliara's father turned to go, her expression hardened at his words. She turned to look at her mom, who nodded in response. "Be ready on Friday, Aliara," her mother urged.
Aliara entered her room and collapsed onto her bed, oh, how she despised her dad's business parties!
The host was always attempting to make a fantastic impression by showcasing their new assets, which was exhausting and fake. All these elegant people trying to be flawless to please some investor made them too much to bear! She thought,
She groaned at her rambling thoughts and let out a heavy sigh as she picked up her phone to swiftly call Uma. When Uma didn't answer, she became even more irate.
She opened her text message to Uma, who was most likely asleep at this hour of the night, and as anticipated, got no response.
When she suddenly realized that she hadn't responded to any of Ivan's texts from the day before yesterday, she gasped.
She had become so preoccupied with her everyday activities and the preparations for the exhibition, which was almost a month away, that she had forgotten to respond to him.
She sent a fast message, "Hey, sorry, got busy with a lot of things," and was surprised to receive a response right away.
"It's not a huge deal; even I got caught up with organizing the exhibition." The text further said, "Oh, by the way, we are supposed to meet at school next Monday. Mrs. Nancy asked me to inform you too." Aliara grinned at the positive reply.
"Why is this meeting happening?" she replied inquiringly in the text message. "It's regarding the exhibition itself and also we have received the first manufactured varsity, the sizes were also sent so now they just wanna make sure the material is our liking,"
"And there is something else they wanna talk about," he said, causing Aliara to scowl and hastily type, "What?" Aliara's eyes widened as he typed back,
"It's about some confessions page of our school and also a group chat, you know the students having fun knowing each other's crushes."
"Are you serious?" She enquired, "Did the teachers find out about it or what?" but instead of receiving back, she received an unexpected call from Ivan.
She had never spoken to him on the phone, so her heart sank. Her phone continued to ring, and while her fingers moved slowly to answer it, her thoughts raced.
She heard the head boy say, "Hello," and her ears began to pinken. She answered, "Hey, that was sudden," clearing her mind as she heard a chuckle on the other side.
"Carina, do you want me to apologize for everything, or can I not now?" Aliara's heartbeat raced again when Ivan asked in a honey-dripping voice.
"No, I didn't mean that. Tell me about the page, please," she said changing the subject.
He answered, his voice still unsure of what would happen with the page later on, "It's not a huge thing and the teachers had not gotten any lead on who the person behind it may be, but it's surely some people having fun, not much serious yet."
After Aliara hummed in response, a prolonged silence occurred before she spoke up, "So, I- I will be there on Monday and ya I am going now, need to check who is continuously messaging me, probably Uma," Aliara said.
As she was speaking, her phone began to erupt with notifications, giving Ivan the excuse to end the call. "Good night... Carina," he said before cutting it off, leaving Aliara feeling timid all over again.

Ivan tried to take his mind off the ridiculously adorable conversation with Aliara during their first phone call, so he stroked his temples while sitting on the couch by his room's side.
His mind knew what was happening, but he was beginning to realize what changes were being brought about within himself.
His lips turned into a broad smile as he thought about her. He recalled the time when Federico had questioned him about his feelings for her and he had not yet been able to respond.
He was a tough guy, but he had no idea how to deal with his own sentiments, so he knew he was afraid to ask her and to face his feelings head-on. An unduly excited Federico barged into his room, distracting him.
The man said, making Ivan wince, "Hello, hello, hello, The magnificent Federico is here." "Who allowed you in? And what brings you here?" He enquired, offending Federico with his tone.
"Oh my!" Federico retorted, "Don't you know youngmaster, I'm the new maid—okay, I mean your new entertainer."
This made Ivan rise and roll his eyes. The extremely enthusiastic guy remarked, "Okay, I'll get right to it. I'm tired of Sofia and wanted some time off her chippering," changing the look on his face and causing Ivan to raise an eyebrow as he approached him.
"Why does she tire you out? I believed that she was 'The One.'?" Federico shrugged in response to Ivan's question, which he was uttering with his hands.
Federico picked up the soda off the bedside stand and gulped it down, saying, "You won't understand you don't know what happens in a relationship, she has been asking me to remove all the ladies from my follow list."
Ivan looked at him in confusion, "But isn't that right? As you are obviously in a committed relationship with her" He asked, getting Federico to agree,
"but she has been going crazy about Mariana!" Ivan looked at him curiously as he continued, "She is a friend, but I still removed her even without an explanation, and yet Sofia has been going on about her, when I have clearly mentioned there was nothing between us."
"How about sharing your conversations with Mariana with her?" Federico looked at Ivan with distress as he answered, "My friend, Sofia blocked her before that from my phone," he added, "trust me, these girls never listen."
As Federico kept his drink cold, Ivan turned to face him, unsure of what to say next. "Have you asked her yet?" Federico enquired, causing Ivan to roll his eyes once more in denial.
"Oh come on, you have time only till this Sunday," he said, getting Ivan to nod.
"And I will be tagging along on Monday to the school" Federico stated while Ivan just walked away knowing it was of no use to ask this person not to come, he would do it anyway.

The Valley confessions,Uma laughed as she read through the page, examining some of the posts about her classmates and even Mariana. "They are crazy," she thought to herself as she focused her eyes and halted at one particular post.
"The Top Ships" The words "DM me on who you think should be The best ship of the year..." are written in white on a black background with a red caption.
Uma shook her head, contemplating how the madness had reached its peak, but her eyes narrowed when she read the page's story, seeing all the ships lined up with their names visible.
She said to herself, "They shouldn't do that," but then her gaze fixed on one, "The head boy and The head Girl." She got up from her cozy spot and read the passage aloud.
The post about ships and the announcement that "The Head Boy and The Head Girl" are the hottest ships of the year, appeared as she scrolled down.
Suddenly, her attention was drawn to the group chat where all of the seniors and juniors were engaging, and the hashtags #headboyXheadgirl and #Shipoftheyear were being flooded.
Heavens, what a mess! Her eyes nearly burst when she saw the 2,336 supporters who cast votes in favor of the ship's sailing. She cried as she dialed Aliara's number immediately.
