:; I know you
I walked with you once upon a dream
That look in your eyes is so familar a gleam
And I know it's true, that visions are seldom what they seem.

Voltaire High's exit, 5:34 PM

Evening was slowly descending upon the high school as Lily-Rose emerged from the imposing doors of the institution. The day had been marked by the disdainful glances of Joseph and a few other students, but despite it all, she was relieved that this first day was finally over.

She had managed to make a few friends among the other girls, which made the prospect of the coming days a bit more bearable.

As she stepped across the threshold of the school, she noticed an unusual commotion among the students. A crowd had gathered around a luxurious car, and Lily-Rose soon realized it was her fiancé Guillaume's Mercedes.

But as she stood there, her eyes fixed on the lavish car, a surge of anger rose within her. He was waiting for her.

Displaying his car in front of the entire school was beyond what she could bear. She refused to be reduced to a mere object, a possession to be shown off to others like a trophy.

A tear of frustration threatened to roll down her cheek, but she clenched her fists, refusing to give him that satisfaction. She had no intention of letting anyone at the school know she was engaged, especially not in such a humiliating manner.

Without a word, Lily-Rose turned on her heel, determined not to give him the spectacle he expected. She was prepared to face the solitary walk home rather than play the role of the submissive, docile fiancée and especially to get into that car that represented everything she despised and everything she refused to be.

Her momentum was abruptly halted when she collided with someone while turning around. Startled, she turned to find herself face to face with Joseph, whom she immediately recognized by his eyepatch and brown hair.

She felt a surge of frustration wash over her. She was already upset enough about the situation with Guillaume, and now here she was facing that insufferable Joseph.

"Not very good at watching where you're going, princess, huh ?" he quipped, a smirk playing on his lips.

"I could say the same about you, but I guess it wouldn't matter with someone like you," she retorted with a hint of sarcasm.

"Tell me, is that your car ?" he asked, nodding towards the car a few steps away that was attracting all the attention.

She shook her head, her gaze clouding slightly. "No, I don't even know whose it is."

Joseph narrowed his eyes, sensing the tension in the young woman's voice. "And that person inside, is it your brother ? Or maybe someone from your family ?"
