Corridors of Voltaire High, 3:23 PM

Lily-Rose wandered through the school corridors, engrossed in a book, lost in her thoughts. The school holidays were imminent, and a slight excitement lingered in the air.

Suddenly, a hand grasped her arm, making her jump. She immediately recognized him and let herself be led, now accustomed. Without a word, Joseph led her into the empty restroom, which was deserted at this time of day.

Once inside, he gently pushed her against a wall, his hands enveloping her body firmly. Lily-Rose felt a rush of warmth engulf her as he approached, his intense gaze capturing hers.

He drew her body closer to his and kissed her with an intensity and passion she had never seen from him before. His hands gripped her waist as he leaned into her, kissing her and pulling her close.

His hand trailed down her lower back as he drew nearer, their bodies colliding in a swift motion. His other hand wrapped around her waist, pulling her closer. He began kissing her neck, nibbling at her collarbone.

"Princess..." he began, suddenly stopping. "It's been weeks since we've been together. I think it's time you met my mother. She's eager to meet you."

She grimaced automatically. "We've already discussed this. I'm not sure it's a good idea. Our families come from such different worlds. What would she say seeing a noble in her house ?"

He sighed, a smirk playing on his lips. "You know those are just excuses, right ? Are you afraid she won't like you ?"

Lily-Rose shook her head, annoyed. "It's not that. I don't want your mother to think I look down on you or that I don't belong."

"She already adores you, even without meeting you. She's much kinder than you think."

Lily-Rose rolled her eyes, but a smile formed on her lips.

"But what if it goes wrong ?"

Joseph stepped closer, his eye twinkling. "She'd probably say I've finally become wise in choosing someone good. You underestimate yourself, you know."

He leaned in to whisper in her ear : "Nothing will go wrong. And if you don't come, she'll think I'm hiding you because you look like a troll."

She laughed despite herself, lightly pushing his hand away. "Stop it, you know that's not true."

"So, what are you really risking ?" He looked at her intensely, a slight smile on his lips.

"I..." She hesitated, searching for her words, nervously playing with a strand of her hair. "I'm afraid of not living up to expectations."

He leaned in to murmur in her ear : "Why not give it a try ? What could possibly go wrong ? You're brilliant, beautiful, kind, and my mother will adore you."

Lily-Rose gave a shy smile, but the worry still lingered in her eyes. "And if I say something inappropriate ?"

Joseph took advantage of the moment to kiss her gently on the cheek.

"Ah, you're adorable when you worry like that. You know, you could say anything, and she'd still find you charming. Just like me."

Lily-Rose lightly hit his shoulder, feigning indignation. "You're teasing me !"

He raised his hands in defense, his smile widening. "Not at all, my dear. Ah, noble Lady Lily-Rose, it seems your courage is fleeing."

She hit his shoulder again. "You're impossible !" He smiled, pleased to have elicited a reaction.

"Seriously, come tonight. You'll see it'll be fine." He kissed her other cheek, then the tip of her nose.

She looked at him, weighing the pros and cons. Finally, she relented. "You're really convincing, you know that ? Fine, I'll come, but you stick with me the whole time, okay ?"

Joseph smiled, kissing her lips this time. "Promise. I'll be there every step of the way." He planted a kiss on her forehead. He stepped back slightly, a radiant smile lighting up his face. "Thank you, Lily-Rose," he murmured before kissing her again. "You can't imagine how much this means to me."

She smiled, feeling her worries melt away under his wet kisses. "Are you thanking me again ?" she asked, laughing softly.

He kissed her cheeks, her eyelids, then the corner of her lips.

"Yes, and it's only the beginning," he replied, his lips gently tracing her jawline. He trailed a path of kisses to her ear, sending shivers down her spine. "Each kiss is a thank you," he whispered before placing his lips on her neck, eliciting a small sigh of contentment from her.

"You're so dramatic," she joked, her hands playing in Joseph's hair. "You're really adorable when you're grateful, you know that ?" she said, laughing softly.

"Only for you," he smiled, his lips continuing their exploration, placing soft kisses on her shoulder.

She nestled against him, feeling his comforting presence reassure her. "I just hope I don't mess up," she murmured, a hint of anxiety in her voice.

Joseph chuckled softly, a comforting sound that made Lily-Rose's heart beat a little faster.

"Even if you do, I'm sure it'll be adorable. My mother will love you, I have no doubt about that."

Lily-Rose relaxed, closing her eyes and savoring the moment. She realized that despite her apprehensions, being with Joseph gave her a sense of security and happiness she had never known before.

Joseph kissed her one last time before letting her go. "I'm really glad you're coming. It's going to be perfect, you'll see."

Lily-Rose felt her heart warm at the sight of his confident smile. "I hope you're right."

"I know I am," he said with quiet certainty.

They walked out of the restroom, hand in hand, ready to face this new stage of their relationship together.
