You look so pretty, pretty like the wind
Every time you touch me, I feel adrenaline.

Monclair Residence, 2:23 PM

The wrought iron gate opened onto a path lined with majestic trees. The imposing silhouette of the mansion stood before him.

Joseph approached, his steps echoing on the fine gravel as he marveled at the elegant and sophisticated architecture. Multicolored flowers bordered the winding paths, filling the air with their sweet fragrance.

He had taken care to dress appropriately for this meeting, choosing a clean shirt and pants without any tears, despite the slight discomfort caused by his eyepatch. He hoped his neat appearance would somewhat alleviate his sense of displacement in this unfamiliar world.

As he reached the front door, he paused for a moment to catch his breath, his heart pounding in his chest.

Taking a deep breath, he straightened up and reached out to knock, feeling a lump forming in his throat.

A moment of silence passed, then the door opened to reveal Lily-Rose, standing there before him, dressed in an elegant dress that seemed to almost radiate grace.

She greeted him with a warm smile, instantly dispelling some of his anxiety. "You're here ! Come in," she said, opening the door wider to let him enter.

Joseph offered her a grateful smile as he crossed the threshold, mentally preparing himself for what lay ahead. He stepped inside, his eyes roaming the room with astonishment. He had never seen such luxury in his life.

The walls were adorned with paintings, the shelves laden with expensive knick-knacks, and beautiful chandeliers hung from the ceiling, illuminating the room. The floor was covered with a plush, thick carpet, adding a touch of warmth to the already sumptuous ambiance.

"It's... it's magnificent," he murmured, almost breathless, as he felt the weight of his social status pressing down on his shoulders.

How could he compete with all this ? He suddenly felt clumsy and awkward in this luxurious setting, like an intruder in a world that wasn't his own.

And Lily-Rose seemed so at ease in this environment, as if she were born to be surrounded by luxury and refinement. It was as if she belonged in this world, while he felt like a stranger.

"Come, let me show you around," she said, beginning to guide him through the maze of corridors adorned with ancestral portraits.

The gleaming chandeliers, the intricate ceiling molding – everything spoke of the refinement of the Montclairs.
