School courtyard, 8:24 AM

The morning following Henri's party weekend, the high school courtyard slowly came to life under the morning light, students converging towards their classrooms with yawns and sleepy conversations.

Lily-Rose entered the high school courtyard, walking alongside her friend Annick, joyfully discussing the events of the previous evening.

Joseph, who stood apart, watched their arrival. Even after consuming alcohol at the party, Lily-Rose seemed radiant, glowing with freshness and elegance.

As he observed, her two friends began teasing him as they usually did. "Hey, Joseph, we saw you glued to Lily-Rose all evening. Are you sure you don't have a thing for her ?"

"Yeah, you didn't stop talking to her and following her everywhere. Seems like you had a good time with Lily-Rose last night, huh ?" Charles asked, echoing his friend's words.

He felt himself blush slightly under the teasing gaze of his friends, but he didn't let his embarrassment show. "Shut up. We were just talking."

Charles raised a skeptical eyebrow. "Just talking, huh ? We don't buy it. So spill. Did you two hook up ?"

Joseph shook his head with an exasperated sigh. "Of course not. We were just there, talking. Nothing more. We were just there to have fun, that's all."

"Having fun, huh ? You know that's not what everyone's saying. Some are saying you spent the whole evening with her."

"Yeah, you were really cozying up to her, huh ?" Charles continued with a mocking laugh. His words made him grimace.

"Stop, it's not funny." Yet he knew these two would never miss an opportunity to tease him, especially when it came to Lily-Rose.

"Oh, come on, don't be such a prude. We just want to know if you managed to get closer to her, if you catch my drift," Charles continued, a smirk on his lips as he nudged him.

"Maybe pretty Lily-Rose will undress for you next time, who knows ?"

His friends' vulgar remarks made his blood boil. He felt anger rising within him but initially did nothing.

"Come on, admit it, you couldn't help but watch her closely. You even saw her naked, admit it ! At least you managed to see her boobs, right ?"

The tension rose a notch in his mind. His jaw clenched, his fists clenched, and a flash of anger burned in his eyes.

"Okay, that's enough ! You have no right to talk about her like that." She didn't deserve to be the subject of their vulgar jokes.

His fiery gaze pierced through his two friends, silencing them instantly. They understood then that their banter had crossed a line they shouldn't have crossed.
