:; What a wonderful feeling
You're down and you're pleading
My head is just reeling
The red means I love you.

School courtyard, 8:19 AM
That morning, Lily-Rose strode confidently through the gates of the high school, her scarlet red dress gently billowing around her in the breeze.
All eyes turned toward her, captivated by her dazzling presence among the crowd of students milling about in the courtyard. Joseph, leaning against a wall off to the side, watched the scene with a mixture of amusement and wariness.
The sight of Lily-Rose in her red dress had caught his attention more than he cared to admit, though he inwardly fought against it. She always had that effect on him, even when he tried to ignore her.
He studied her, noticing how the sunlight illuminated her golden hair and brought out the scarlet hue of her outfit. She was like a flame in the darkness of the courtyard, impossible to ignore.
When their eyes met, he found himself looking away, feeling a strange surge of emotion that he refused to acknowledge.
Meanwhile, Lily-Rose cast him a brief glance before heading toward her friends, leaving a trail of fascination and confusion in her wake.
From where he stood, he watched her approach her group before Jean-Pierre stepped forward to greet her. Though he couldn't hear what they were saying, he quickly surmised that he was complimenting her. He could tell from the shy smile that lit up Lily-Rose's lips.
Leaning against a nearby wall, he couldn't help but feel a mixture of fascination and annoyance at the scene.
He hated to admit that the red dress seemed to accentuate her in a way that captured everyone's attention, including his own.
"What an idiot," he muttered to himself. He quickly pushed aside these thoughts, reminding himself that she could wear all the dresses in the world, she was still an aristocrat.
And yet, despite his efforts to remain indifferent, a small voice inside him whispered that perhaps, just perhaps, he should resign himself to acknowledging that there was something fascinating about her.

Exit from Voltaire High, 5:32 PM
As the day drew to a close and students began to leave the high school, Lily-Rose walked away from the buildings with a calm demeanor.
In her wake, Joseph walked not far behind, keeping a respectful distance but observing every step she took.
He saw her move further away, determined not to let her go without a word. Finally, he sighed, gathering his courage, and approached her.
"Hey, princess," he called out, as he often did.
She stopped abruptly and turned to him, surprised to see him approaching. She raised an eyebrow, looking at him for a moment before breaking the silence.
"Pirate ?" she queried, her coppery eyes scanning his. He didn't immediately respond, but continued to walk beside her, his gaze focused into the distance.
Finally, he sighed, as if gathering the courage to reply. "I'll walk you home," he stated simply, as if it were no big deal.
A slight embarrassment washed over her. How could she explain to him that she couldn't accept his offer without offending him ?
"Oh, um..." she stammered, quickly searching for a valid excuse. "You know, Guillaume is... uh, picking me up, so..."
A slight furrow appeared on Joseph's brow, but he quickly concealed his discomfort.
"Guillaume," he repeated in a neutral tone, as if pondering something. So, it's for him that she's wearing that pretty dress.
She lowered her eyes, inwardly cursing herself for her lack of tact. Why did things always have to get complicated in Joseph's presence ?
Was it disappointment she had detected in his eyes ? She shook her head, pushing that thought from her mind. After all, why did it matter to her so much ?
"Act like you did last time. Just ignore him," he suggested, his gaze meeting hers, catching her off guard.
Lily-Rose felt her embarrassment increase. She knew following his advice would likely cause trouble with her father and Guillaume himself. She hesitated for a moment, then looked away, feeling at a loss.
She opened her mouth to respond, but they were interrupted by the approach of a car and the sound of its engine. They both turned to the street to see a sleek black Mercedes approaching slowly.
The elegant black car stopped a few meters away. Joseph held his breath as he recognized Guillaume's imposing silhouette behind the wheel, becoming aware of his polished appearance, dark hair, and evident charm.
As she approached the car, his hand grasped her arm firmly, causing her to startle with surprise and pain. Not this arm...
His piercing gaze swept over her face, noticing the grimace of pain twisting her delicate features. He frowned as he released her arm. He knows.
"Well, you shouldn't keep him waiting," he finally admitted.
Lily-Rose gave him a apologetic look, as if asking for forgiveness. Then, with a resigned sigh, she headed toward the car before getting inside.
Watching her, Joseph felt a lump form in his throat. Lily-Rose's gaze briefly met his before the car drove off, taking her further away from him.
He stood there, motionless, watching the car drive away until it disappeared around the corner, realizing what had just happened.
On their end, Guillaume cast an inquisitive glance toward Lily-Rose as he drove. "Who was that one-eyed guy you were with ?" he asked finally.
She felt a shiver of discomfort run through her but tried to keep her composure as she replied, "He's just a boy from my class."
Guillaume's eyebrows furrowed slightly. "Then why was he walking you home ?" he pressed, his tone becoming harsher.
She didn't want to arouse further suspicion, but she couldn't lie to him either. "He just wanted to be polite, that's all," she quickly responded, hoping it would be enough to appease her fiancé.
But Guillaume wasn't convinced. "You shouldn't be spending time with other boys, especially that one, with one eye missing, he's a real creep. I want you to promise me to stay away from him," he declared authoritatively.
"Okay, I promise," she finally responded, knowing she would have to find a way to handle this delicate situation in the future.
Guillaume remained silent for a moment, his gaze still locked with Lily-Rose's. Then, after a sigh, he briefly looked away from the road to look at her. "I trust you."
As his gaze fell on her again, his eyes ran over her silhouette dressed in her red dress, highlighting her natural grace. A smile formed on his lips.
"You look lovely in that dress," he said softly, appreciating how the color contrasted with her pale skin, before sliding a hand onto her thigh.
She hated it when he touched her. And she so much wanted to walk home, with Joseph.
