Magna corda palpitant pariter
And your eyes crinkle when you laugh
And the blackness of my fingertips never scared youOuranos kissed my eyelids as he set me back to Earth
So I might tangle roots in my hair
Like a great crown as I rise to my altarThe callouses of your hands tell me of titans
And terrors and gods slain by man,
Never wavering and never faltering from my ownAs we talk of stars and shacks and checkered pasts,
Luna's gaze falls upon me again, lips ashen and veiled with threats,
My veins, long silent, sing hymns to Libra risingAnd do you suppose Chronos watches on?
Cursing the last of his father's creation,
Loined from Gaia below and not of blood?Knowing that I have stolen you, like inferno untold,
And cut down Pandora where she slept,
Beneath rose beds and lilac trees, to conquer him?So that my hands can graze shoulder blades
And words fall away like rain showers from on high
And these scars are for you alone, my loveThese bones have been picked clean before
But for you, I will bare them
And you will speak gentle promises as the ashes burn anew.
