Comeback To me

Chapter One:

Third Person's Pov...

====PRESENT TIME====

"Mommy!" A little boy cried out and his mother quickly went into the room. "What's wrong, Chung-Woo?" She asked softly, embracing him into her arms. She could sense the young boy's distress.

"I can't put on my shirt!" He whined again, but his mother chuckled softly. She corrected him, and he managed to put on his shirt. Since she could remember, Chung-woo loved to wear formal clothes. Of course, her little boy was smart and mature for his short age of 5.

"Mommy, can we go see Aunt Lia and Aunt Yeji?" He smiled excitedly. His mother shook her head. "She might be busy at work, Woonie." He pouted with a big frown on his face. "I'm sure-" He was interrupted when his mother received a call. He knew to keep quiet whenever she had to answer the phone.

"Hey! Chaeryeong, you want to come and have lunch with me and Yeji?" Lia spoke, and, of course, Chung-woo's ears perked upon hearing his aunt's voice. He grinned widely and looked at his mom. "Sure, unnie, mind if I take Chung-woo?" She asked.

"Oh yeah, I'll bring Jiji along so she can play with him." Lia said, and they finished talking about other things. Chaeryeong smiled softly. "We should stop by the store and buy some snacks for the picnic." Chung-woo suggested, and Chaeryeong looked over at him in shock. "Chung-woo, what did mommy say about eavesdropping?"

"You said that it is disrespectful and that we should always try to avoid it so we can be respectful and kind to those around us." He said it word-for-word. Chung-woo realized what he said and bowed down. "I'm sorry, mommy. I'll try not to eavesdrop again." He said and grabbed his mom's hand.

Chaeryeong's Pov...

Chung-woo held my hand as he excitedly picked out some snacks for the picnic. Of course, I rejected some of the snacks, causing him to pout cutely. "Chung-woo, two more snacks, and we need to go eat lunch." I said softly, inspecting the food he had gotten. "Okay, mommy." He said and held my hand tightly.

"C-Chaeryeong?" My heart stopped, hearing that sweet, familiar voice call out my name. I clenched my fists together and pulled Chung-woo behind me. I turned around and was met with a short, black-haired girl.

"Ryujin-ah." I mumbled, and my hands started to sweat. I was trembling nervously; I never thought she would be standing in front of me ever again. I couldn't believe she returned after five years. "It's nice to see you again. You still have your red hair, huh?" Ryujin said, smiling; she noticed Chung-woo behind me but didn't say anything. The silence was killing me alive, until.

"Who are you? How do you know my mommy!?" Chung-woo asked, making his manliest stance in front of me. My eyes widened, but not as wide as Ryujin's.

"Mommy?" She asked, looking me straight in the eye. "Yeah! She's my mom! You got a problem?" Chung-woo said, and I tapped his shoulder. He looked at me, and I smiled softly. "Chung-woo, go look for some strawberries and go get some more snacks." I said, and he pouted but nodded. He was always obedient.

"So, you have a kid now; congratulations! You're married now?" Ryujin said and I shook my head, "N-no... I'm not married. Chung-woo's father left." I said as tears welded into my eyes. My hands unclenched, and I let out a sigh.

"I'm happy to see you doing well, Chaeryeong. We should catch up; would you like to have lunch?" She asked me, and I looked up, holding my arm. "Lia unnie and Yeji unnie are having lunch with me."
