Comeback To Me

Chapter Four:

Third Person's Pov...
"Get out of my house, you creep! NOBODY LIKE YOU DESERVES TO BE MY MOMMA! I don't want you to be my momma if it means you'll hurt my mommy! I'd rather get bullied because of only having one parent than have one who doesn't want me in their life. Mommy would never lie..." Chung-woo yelled at Ryujin and started pushing her away from Chaeryeong with his tiny little hands.

Chaeryeong looked at him, completely broken. She didn't want this too happen. This wasn't her intention. "Stop... Chung-woo just go play with Jiji..." Chaeryeong said grabbing his shoulder softly.

Ryujin looked at both of them, and Yeji still held her arm. "But-"

"Chung-woo..."

"No mommy! This... this isn't fair. If you're such a coward, why didn't you leave me too!?" He yelled at his mother with tears in his eyes. Jiji hugged her cousin and dragged him back into the room. Chaeryeong stood there quietly, just like the others. Chung-woo had never talked back.

"Let her go, unnie. She's free to leave. Just know that when you leave, I won't ever reach out to you again." Chaeryeong said Ryujin shook Yeji off and slammed the door on her way out. Yeji ran after her before she could leave.

"Chaeryeong-ah... you shouldn't-"

"No, Lia unnie, Chung-woo is right. I'm a coward. I should have dealt with it from the beginning." Chaeryeong couldn't help but cry, "I'm a terrible mother, aren't I?" She asked Lia as the older comforted her and hugged her tightly.

———

"Ryujin! Get your ass back in there!" Yeji said, stopping her from entering the car. She halted, seeing as Ryujin started crying.

"J-just leave me."

"Ryujin, you're not the type of person to run away. You can have the DNA papers. You were way out of line." Yeji said and forcefully placed the papers in Ryujin's hands.

"I know! I know, dammit, but what the hell was I supposed to do? I thought I was going to catch up with my best friend, not find out I have a son!" Ryujin protested, trying to regain her composure.

"I'm scared. I'm not ready. Chaeryeong and Chung-woo already hate me. I ruined it." Ryujin sobbed.

"You can apologize and make it up to them. He is your son and you need to take responsibility... to be honest... when Lia told me she was pregnant, I freaked out. I completely panicked and almost ran. In the end, everything turned out to be just fine. What I'm trying to say is to just trust in yourself. You're not the only one who is scared and worried. Chaeryeong had to deal with this for five years, all on her own." Yeji explained, trying to understand the younger.

"Shit. I messed up." Ryujin sighed deeply. She wiped her tears away and looked down at the necklace in her hand. "So, what do I even do now?"

"Well, there is something I can tell you if you promise not to blow my cover." Yeji grinned, and Ryujin nodded eagerly to hear what was about to be said. "So you know Chung-woo goes to the same school as Jiji, right?" Yeji asked and Ryujin nodded a little confused.

"Chung-woo keeps getting bullied. Your father is really famous for shaping schools back into proper ones. How about you start by fixing that problem, and then I'll make sure to keep helping you?" Yeji said, and Ryujin glared at her. Yeji knew Ryujin hadn't talked with her father in a long time, but if it meant fixing things with Chaeryeong, then she had to try.
