It was dark.
Lightning was striking. And the rolling of loud thunder convulses everything that is inside Momo.
Ever since she was a child, she has always been scared of those loud sounds that echo through her environment.
It is destructing.
Disturbing.
And, Momo has always felt that it will hit her and electrify her.
Kill her to say the least.
The Thunder has always been her own demons.
Has always been her own ghost.
Momo has always felt that it could split the whole world into two.
So, as always, she hugs her own knees and buries herself beneath all her teddy bears.
She is crying because of the thunder.
She'd always cry because of this.
But –
A certain warmth presses on her back.
It is better than her teddy bears.
It is too comforting.
Too relaxing.
For the first time in a long time, it finally feels safe.
A haven she wishes will never be gone.
"Momoring, It's okay, I'm here now,"
Sana whispers behind her ears.
And as the lightning invades the cloud, followed by a loud thunder.
Momo faces Sana.
And she sees the brightest smile life has to offer.
Sana is her sun during the storm.
Her shelter during the rain.
Her tunnel during a hurricane.
Her home.
Sana is.
That very night was the first night. That the thread between their friendship broke.
Sana looks at her so lovingly.
A look that Momo only wishes hers.
A look that makes Momo's heart beats faster in a very good way.
It is so chaotic yet it is so peaceful.
Momo traces every part of Sana's face with her delicate eyes.
Her watery eyes.
Until she stares at Sana's lips.
A pair of lips that seems so sweet to taste.
A pair of lips that Momo finds so delicate, yet it's her source of life.
She runs her thumb on it.
She feels Sana trembles.
But never Sana look at her differently.
It is loving.
Affectionate.
So beautiful.
Momo is afraid of thunder and lightning. She isn't even a big fan of fireworks or firecrackers.
But the spark in Sana's eyes like it is a lucid firework on the sky make Momo want to do everything for Sana.
Makes Momo wants to treasure her forever and ever.
