"Like I said, pretty."

It had been exactly a week since the party in the Ravenclaw common room. James knew something had changed between him and Regulus in that week, at least that's how it seemed to him. For all he knew Regulus could see him just as a friend - or less, a classmate - nothing more. At the party they'd been closer, but both of them were drunk. Everything James said and acted on at that party was completely his decision, he really wasn't that drunk. But in hindsight he'd never been around Regulus when he was drunk, maybe that's just how the younger boy was when he'd had too much to drink.
James just decided to shove all of those feelings to the back of his brain, there was no point dwelling on something that could've just been a drunken mistake.
Merlin, he was making it sound like something actually happened. He was overthinking over bloody nothing. The past week he and Regulus continued to speak and meet up normally, so it was probably just nothing - of course to James it wasn't nothing. It felt like he was seeing Regulus through a whole different set of eyes. And to add to that - he smelt Regulus in his amortentia, which was a shock but he had to say it made sense.
Aside from all of that, James was having a pretty good day. Later today was the Quidditch game against Slytherin, the whole school agreed that Gryffindor were going to thrash them. James was also very sure of it, he'd actually gotten a scolding from Regulus earlier this week for being 'a cocky bastard' as he'd put it.
"Gryffindor is going to thrash the Slytherins, I promise that to you." James had said with a wink.
Regulus had then hit him on the arm with a book and scowled. "If you don't stop being such a cocky bastard I won't help with the rest of your potions homework, I'm serious." He had spoke.
"No that's your broth-" He received another smack on his shoulder, with a grinning Regulus sat next to him.
He found himself quite frequently thinking of the younger Black brother - even more so since the party. He felt slightly guilty, well more than slightly. Mostly because he was lying to Sirius, and he was pretty sure he had feelings for his brother which he certainly wouldn't react well to. You see, the lying part, James didn't want to lie to Sirius - but he'd just never told him. So whenever Sirius asked where he was going, he'd make up an excuse. Because he can't exactly tell him now, can he?
I'm just hanging out with your brother and shamelessly flirting with him every day.
Yeah that won't work, definitely not. It was just too late to tell him now, and he couldn't tell him when he started hanging out with Regulus because at that point their relationship was a bit dodgy - still is, but it's getting better it seems. He hopes so, he really does.
