Before you start this chapter, I'm sorry.

𝐈 feel a stab on my head. I try breathing faster, but I still choke on air.

I start coughing to the point my chest starts aching. I slowly peel my eyes open only to be met with pitch black.

"Athena?"

"Athena?"

I groan, moving my head only for it to get in contact with a cold metal bar.

"Athena!?"

I humm. This time I actually open my eyes properly. There is a light bulb hung on the ceiling send there are iron bars around me. I'm in a cage?

"Athena." Someone says slowly.

I look to my tight side, there is another cage beside me with a person inside it.

"Who —Kira!?"

She has light bulb hung in her side of the ceiling too. We both can easily see each other and a little around the room but not much. It's only darkness.

"Athena how did you end up here?" She asks me.

"I-" I hiss in pain, "I was in an ice cream parlour with my brother an—Wait. Wheres Kai!?" I ask her frantically.

She furrows her eyebrows, "They only brought you here and no body."

"Shit shit shit Kai!!" I tug on the iron bars, it won't bulge. I look around for a lock and I find it but there's no way I can escape. Not untill when anybody opens it.

"How long have you been here?" I ask her to distract myself, kai will be fine. I know it.

"Since they took me in the Russian ball."

"A month?" I gasp. She nods.

"Why? Do you know why they kidnapped us and who they are!?"

She nods again, "There are many people involved. Pretzel, the French's second in command. He was the one who killed his boss's daughter, he betrayed them. Then it's the Mexican clan. Both father and son. All three of them are together. They have their own sets of men."

Mexican clan, "Do you mean Deigo and his father?"

She nods confused, "You know them?"

"I do. He tried talking to me a lot in the mafia balls."

"Oh. Well here we are. Do you know anything about Alexei? Is he okay?"

I nod, "A little bit. He hasn't left Italy after you were kidnapped. He's been looking for you since then."

A tear rolls down her cheek. Now that I look at her closely, I can see all sorts of bruises and cuts on her face. She been reaking of blood and blood.

But one thing I notice strange is that she has more blood in her thigh region than her upper part of the body. My face pales. Did they?
