Samantha's POV
"How many times I must tell you to stop jogging in the mornings with your earphones in your ears?" He shouted.
I could hear him very well. I don't see the reason he had for shouting, it was just me and him in the damn big house.
"Daddy, I heard you," I said. I rolled my eyes but prayed he didn't see.
"Yeah but you nah listen to me. The bike man could have hit you and then what?"
He was still shouting and that was pissing me off even more. Talking to me like I was a damn child.
I hated coming here. I can't wait for my mother to come back so I can go home to my own peace.
"I won't do that again," I said, just so he could stop talking. "Couldn't I get some money to buy gas put in my car?"
"Yuh asking me for money again Sammy? A law school mi send you and you work at a law firm, don't ask me for a dollar more after today."
I stood there and watched as he aggressively took his wallet out and gave me some money. I didn't need his money, I just wanted him to curse about something else and If tomorrow comes and I need more he is going to give me the same way.
Now I realize why mommy says he is big and overgrown.
My father did constructions and other things that allowed him access to fast money.
My mother always said he sent me to law school because one day he will need me to represent him. I never asked why she said that.
They didn't like each other so it was easy for them to say anything to me that would make one parent look bad.
At one point I thought my mother was bitter but being around him made me understand why they could never get along and she wasn't bitter at all.
My mother worked as a cashier for years and never complained. She got a chance to go on a work programme two years ago and she has been going back and forth ever since.
This is why I am stuck here because she thought I was not responsible enough to stay in the house by myself.
At my bgi fucking age.
"Sammy, drive the white Honda to work. I am going to get someone to bring the BMW to get aligned" he said.
"No problem," I replied.
I can't wait to get a car of my own. I prefer the BMW and he hates it when I drive it.
"And Sammy you see the bend at the bottom of the street, watch how you go around it because sometimes these people don't hear cars coming."
Lord Daddy can chat enuh.
"Ok Daddy, I'm going to get ready for work." I made sure to hurry and leave the room before he said another word.
I picked my phone to check the time and realized that I had a message. It was from Chany.
Chany's Chat
Chan: Why you a tell Crissy that you are not coming to my birthday dinner party?
I hissed my teeth and placed my phone back onto the bed. The heck is this? I'm not even going to answer her. See this is why I started staying to myself.
I was ready just in time to catch daddy leaving out. I got another round of warnings, gave him a kiss and jumped into the big fat Honda and made my way down Tolgada Avenue.
I put on some Koffee to catch the early morning vibes. Just one quick glance at my phone and out of the blue I bump something.
"Fuck man!"
I hopped out of the car and ran to the man lying in the road.
"Hey, did I hit you?"
Of course the dummy is holding his foot.
"Yeah you ram over my foot" He said and I started to panic.
He was grunting in pain. This is really bad, my father warned me about this.
"Ok I am going to call my dad or can I take you to the hospital?" I asked. I would rather take him to the hospital. I didn't want to call my dad after him just warning me about my driving.
I got down on my knees to take a closer look at his foot. "Is it broken?" I asked.
He started to laugh. "No me good man, you just bump me a little and I feel like messing with you," he said.
Fucking jerk. Who does that?
"Really? Why did you do that? Now I am late for work."
"Because I saw you running yesterday and I called out to you but you cut your eyes at me."
What is wrong with this man?
"So you jump into my car?" I asked.
A suh him want hailings?
"No, you bump me. Aye mine mi have to lay down and bawl enuh. You know wah, me wah guh hospital." He started smiling and holding his ankle.
"Come on, my dad is going to be pissed plus I'm gonna be late for work" I pleaded with him.
He didn't care. He was just flashing his pretty smile.
"I know your dad, I know this car and I'm going to call him and tell him you hit me down"
Jesus is he for real? Is who send this crosses?
"Look here nuh sir, wah you name suh I can address you properly?"
"Aaahh, mi ankle. Everyone calls me Nick. Come look, yuh think it bruck?" He tried to get me to go closer to him and I was fighting back the laugh because I was also pissed.
"Nick nothing nuh do you. Let me help you up and we both go about our business" I said.
"You are a wicked girl. Anyways give me your number and I won't call the police and your dad on you" He said.
He was still in character too, rubbing his foot and all. I had to go and he seemed like the type that would take a joke too far.
"Fine, that's all you want, I will give it to you so I can be on my way" I said.
"Oohh, my foot. It a swell? What's the number?".
I had to laugh out loud.
He handed me his phone and I entered my number and name. I will be blocking him anyway. I gave him back the phone then turned to leave.
"Then you nah help me up. How you stay suh?" He asked.
I took a deep breath then walked back to him. I extended my hand to help pull him up.
it was not hard to notice how good looking he was.
"Thank you, miss?"
"Samantha," I replied.
"Ok, I feel better now, my foot heals quickly, you have super powers." he smiled and I rolled my eyes.
Damn fool. "Good," I said, then proceeded to walk back to the car and he followed me and held my door as I got back into the car.
"Don't bother lick down anyone else enuh because me nuh wah nobody else get your number"
Why was I blushing?
"Ok then. I need to go to work," I said.
"Drive safe Samantha."
He stepped back as drove off. I watched him in the rear view mirror waving as I drove away.
Why the fuck was I blushing?
