Burning Love (Bakugo x reader)

Chapter 85

The ride back to the school was quiet for you and Shoto. He had told you to stop apologizing so you didn't really have anything else to say.

Once you all got to UA, you went straight to your room. Embarrassed and ashamed in yourself. You face planted on the bed and stayed there, trying your best not to cry. You hated crying.

You heard your phone ping. It was Mina.

Mine: Gurl come down here. We got pizza to celebrate. And by "we" I mean momo and Iida lol

If it were any other day you would go but you just dropped your head back down and hoped they thought you were asleep. Then, you heard a knock at the door.

"Come on Y/n, I know you're not asleep." You heard Mina say on the other side of the door. You sigh and get up. "Everyone is downstairs, even Bakugou. You know how early he goes to sleep." She continues when you open the door.

She grabs your arm and leads you downstairs to the common room.

"Look who I brought!" She announced to the rest of your classmates. They all said hi to you and your brother came up to you with a plate.

"Here, it's surprisingly good." He said to you, handing you the plate with pizza. You thanked him and sat down at the table while they all either conversed in the kitchen or on the couch.

You sat there looking down at the slice of pizza for a few seconds, noticing that it had mushrooms on it. You hated mushrooms, but Shoto was nice enough to serve this to you, and you didn't want anyone to notice you pick them off. Just as you were going to start eating it, someone sat next to you.

"Here dumbass." Bakugou said as he grabbed your plate and switched it with his. His didn't have any mushrooms. You looked at him confused wondering why he did that. "I know you don't like mushrooms but your dramatic ass would rather eat it than admit you don't like them to your brother." He said as he took a bite of pizza.

"How did you know?" You asked him before starting to eat your slice.

"At the training camp. When we made curry, you ate everything but the mushrooms." He explained, like if it was obvious. You gave him a puzzled look, not knowing he actually pays this much attention to you. "What?" He said defensively.

"Nothing. I just didn't think anyone would notice." You admit, finishing your food.

"Just because your brother doesn't pay attention doesn't mean I don't." He retorts. He only understood what he said when you began standing up and glared at him.

You scoffed as you started walking away. Bakugou reaches and grabs your arm before you get too far. He stays sat so as to not bring attention to you two.

"Wait, I'm... I didn't mean it like that." He says hesitantly. You stay facing away from him, not having the energy to talk with him right now.

"I know." Is as you said as you walked back to your room.

As you got ready for bed you couldn't help but think about what you could've done differently so your brother would have passed the exam. It's not like he isn't going to get it though. The people that didn't pass have the opportunity to take remedial classes and earn their license later. But you still feel bad.

You laid in your bed when you finished braiding your hair and tried your best to push those feelings away. Then you heard a knock at the door and then it opened. You sat up surprised not realizing you didn't lock it.

Bakugou quickly came through the door and shut it behind him.

"Don't leave your door unlocked dumbass." He said as he noticed your surprised expression.

"What do you want Bakugou?" You asked, standing up.

"To tell you to stop fucking worrying so much." He said with a scowl. "It's written all over your face even if no one else notices, I do." He continues. You guessed this was his way of cheering you up which was sweet but not working.

"Easier said than done." You say as you let out a sigh.

"Who gives a fuck about what your father thinks?" He said, and you were confused.

"What?" You ask.

"Isn't that why you are worried? Because of what your dad might say?" He explains. In all honesty you couldn't care less about your father, you were just worried about your brother.

"No, I'm not worried about him. I'm worried that Shoto might think I did this on purpose and didn't try helping him enough. I'm scared he might think I was lying to him or something. I'm scared he might hate me." You don't even realize that tears are streaming down your face till you feel them hit your shirt. You were so caught up in your mind.

Your hands rush to cover your face as you face away from Bakugou, not wanting him to see you like this. You hated crying, your father always told you to not be so sensitive like your mother.

"It's fine idiot." You hear him say as he steps closer to you. "It's only fair after what you've done for me." He says as he gently grabs your hand and pulls them away from your face. You instinctively look down. "It's ok." Is all he says and you can't take it anymore.

You wrap your arms around his waist and bury your head in his chest as you let yourself cry. He puts a head on the back of your head and shuffles you two over to your bed. He lays on his back so you can stay with your face on his chest.

Once you stopped crying, you felt him shift under you. As you lift your head you see him reach for your phone that's on the nightstand. He turns it to you so it unlocks and then you hear him put in a phone number.

"Next time you feel this shitty make sure to tell me you got it?" He says, putting your phone back. He looked down at you and you couldn't help but look back at him.

He never had his usual angry expression when it was just you two. He always seemed a little more relaxed. His face seemed softer and his actions were so sweet even if his words weren't. You never wanted this moment to end.

You broke eye contact as you sat up, straddling him for a moment as you moved yourself so your head was now buried in his neck and your arms were basically cradling his head. He didn't say a word and just let you hug him.

"Thank you Bakugou." You whispered to him, feeling sleep finally take over. You felt his arms rest on your lower back. "You're such a good friend." Is all you say before falling asleep.
